Thread: Modified E11 should be stun damage!

ok im stealing someone elses post idea sorta, but he didnt quite say this
make the Modified E11 do stun damage, and keep the reg e11 energy
the e11 in teh movies could stun, when modified to do so
what do u guys think?

Right.
In the game, 'Stun'damage (as different from the state) is simply another kind of damage.
In the Film, it knocked people unconcious, and didn't kill them. Much like simply incapping them.
Since these two things are not the same, please explain why you think *any* Carbine should do Stun damage?

NO, and this is VERY well discussed on the Carbineer Forum.....I bet there is near 200 posts on this topic......at least 20-30 on the first page even......
Stun in the MOVIES is a SPECIAL ATTACK, not a damage type to kill a target.....so you "analogy" perfectly disproves your request.....

In the game ALL weapons (aside from a rifle with sniper shot) knock players unconcious, I dont beleive you could think up a reason for a carbine to have acid damage either. Now because stun as you said, knocked people out, it would make perfect sense for a stun carbine to exist as a damage type. Continuity aside,If not for the simple sake of balance.

I thought that we had put this issue to bed. Leave the Enhanced E-11 alone (unless you want to bump up the DOT dmg tic). Give us a Cold/Kinetic/Electrical based carbine. Heck make a knock off of the Nym's Slugthrower that fires Kinetic. Heck, make it a quest item and make it have ammo requirments. Make the ammo components require oddball resources to keep these weps rare. For the love of man upstairs...quit with the "Stun good, every ohter carbine SuxOrZ". I'm real happy with my carbines in general. I wish we had more damage types and reduced HAM costs for specials, but ti could be worse. We could be Pistoleers....

Hey, that's REAL easy: Because the Devs wanted to make one.

Huh? This isn't a logical follow on to anything you've said.....
Why would it make "perfect sense"?

The sake of balance?
How is a crap damage type that's quite strongly resisted in PvP and quite useless in PvE going to help balance *anything*?

Go look at what a PSG (Personal Shield Generator) blocks.
Oh look: Stun.
What's not on the list: Acid
=> Stun chips at armour LESS than Acid
=> Stun = crapola, Acid = better.

I wonder when the idiots are going to realise that the only connection this game has to the movies is 1) The name, 2) the jedi, and 3) the words 'empire', and 'rebellion'That's it. Besides that, there isnt anything at all that makes the game similar to the movies.

Face it, pvp in this game is one of the main draws, as it should be. Stun is the one damage type that we can even chip at the current armor with, and yet carbineer is the ONLY ranged prof with no stun damage gun. I understand that the devs said "all existing armor will be nerfed", but i mean really, how long will that take.
