Hiya Carbineers!

Being a new weaponsmith, I'd like to get some ideas on what Carbineers are looking for in a weapon. I've got a carbineer on Bloodfin, so I kinda know where most of you are coming from on a lot of issues, but I'd still like a more varied opinion than just my own

Perhaps a little feedback, if you wouldn't mind?

Please post your ideas on great stats, what you look for in a carbine, and what problems you've had with your chosen weapon in the past (it's always been that terrifying HAM cost for me! lol ).

Thanks again for your input, and I can't wait to make the best carbines I can for you!!

I don't think there is any ONE thing that carbineers are looking for, but I beleive that most of your customers will use buffs, so don't worry yourself on the HAM costs of a weapon. Instead think of which inhabit your server more a pure carbineer or a hybrid carbineer/bounty hunter, the carbineer/bounty hunter would lean more towards a high damage weapon while a pure carbineer needsa high speed high ideal range modifiers. Most pvpers stick with laser carbines and dxr's, but it is a good idea to stock the low level ones for pre-carbineers grinding. So if I were you I would stock a good mix of high damage and high speed models, (which from my limited weaponsmith knowlage would be with stock and scope and ones without either) , which will be good for the majority of your customer base.

Personally, for PvE I look for a very-high-speed E11 or EE3... depending on my prey of choice... HAM costs are no big deal for me being a Master Doc, but SPEED is my bread and butter out in the countryside

(decent damage wouldn't hurt either... )

First you can make weapons for BH or Carbineers....but not really both at the same time.

BH needs max damage and accuracy whereas speed doesn't matter.
Carbineer needs lowest speed and max accuracy and let damage take care of itself.

I custom order all mine with Imp Stocks, Adv. Scopes, and Krayt Tissue

I have 3 different laser carbines in stock.

Stocked w/ Adv Scope (100 Ideal Range) for BHs who want loads of accuracy and dont care about HAM costs

Unstocked w/ Adv Scope (64, I think, Ideal Range) for Non-BHs who want some acccuracy and dont care about HAM costs

Unstocked w/ Normal Scope (25ish Ideal Range) for Non-BHs who want very low HAM costs and dont care about accuracy.

care to move to Lowca?

I prefer my carbines fast, because I'm poor (so I can't afford the SEAs to make me cap speed) and I don't want to get the BH carbines tree (because I don't want to basically ).

I would actually say you are very wrong about the HAM cost thing. There are a large crowd of people that do not play buffed. Mostly not those on these forums but a lot of new characters, or people like me holding onto how fighting was before buffs don't use them. So I love it when I see a 20/40/20 laser carbine even if the damage is a little lower. The big PVP's would never use it, but to a newer player they are much more useful. Not everyone knows the ins and outs of it all or feels like going to a coronet every few hours.

I dont play buffed unless im grinding at squill caves or something (my server has a buffer a couple 1000 m away for 11k!) buffers on my server are no scarcity, but what I woudl like in a carbine is speed namely. the faster the better. I use Nyms Slugthrower most of the time, I use my elite if the creature has protection form acid.

Check out Cyrus, Eliss, ChaosDlr, and Wink. All good weaponsmiths who make great carbines on our server.
