Thread: NOVA JUST A THOUGHT GRENADES

It is a factthat all IMPERIAL STORMTROOPERS carry an Imperial Grenade on their utility belt. The left leg is designed for sniper support (knee) and the right houses the batteries to run the suit, but that is not important.
NOVA is there any chance with the combat balance to allow all RANGED profession to use GRENADES. I do not want to take anything away from commandos, I think they should get grenades along with host of other weapon, including a HEAVY repeating rifle (T21 Perhaps).
Every member of the Armed forces that goes through infantry training receives this type of training in both real life and in the STAR WARS universe. I would prefer for Grenade use to go into the COMBAT XP tree and only be for the ELETE RANGED PROFESSION (Rifle, Carbine, BH, Pistoleer). It would allow for all ranged profession to have access to other damage types (through the use of GRENADES blast, heat, acid), and with the combat revamp I am sure that greandes will be fixed so they can be more actively used in the game.

we can already use C12 gernades as some nice person told me over and over again in my top 5 post...... the rest are for commandos and i think thats a good place for them, they need all the help they can get, they are almost worse off then us lol.

I understand, but then why did all the carbine carrying Imperial Strom Trooper get issued an Imperial Detonator. It was not for looks it was to used. I do not think that all the STs where commandos, do you?

If the gernades were revamped when given to you that would be a big nerf to the commandos so no.

First off: Everyone can use C12s.
Secondly: Everyone can use Imperial Detonators. But only Commandos can use them *effectively*.
Other than that, no I doubt very much that all Storm Troopers are Commandos.
Doesn't mean that they aren't 4000 Commandos though......

This would be a fun template, not really powerful though.

Combat Prowess 4400 (Wonder if the speed and accuracy also effects heavy weapons)
Reflexes 4200 (Defenses)
Senses 0004 (I hear you get much better loot).

Sorry Haywood, you posted this up in the Commando forums also.
My main is a Master Commando and I would be against having other professions being proficient with our more poweful grenades from Commando.
We have a whole tree supposedly dedicated to theeffective use ofgrenades. If others can be as good or better than us with our own grenades, what's the use of the "Grenadier" title? It's another steel-toed kick to the Commandos' crotch. The devs have made sure we were buried and I'd like to prevent the headstone placement, please!

Maybe, just maybe, they got issues Imperial Detonators because it was a god damned movie! This game is not Star Wars. It has less relation to Star Wars than most games not related to it in any way, shape, or form. The Stormtroopers were not commandos, and they werent carbineers, because those are just dumb names that a roleplaying game with abysmal combat balance made up for classes for people to play with. That's it. No relation to Star Wars, whatsoever.

You can fit commando in your template if you want to be a carbineer.
MyStormtrooper template is(Or will be)
Master Marksman - E11 carbine, E11 Rifle, DLT-rifle, SR combat pistol (all stormtrooper weapons)
Brawler 4200 - Basic close combat training (Vibro-shiv is standard issue stormtrooper equipment)
Master Carbineer - E11 specialization
Scout 4000 - Good physical training
Bounty hunter 0400 - E11 specialization
Commando - 4000 - Effective use of Imperial Detonators
The other skill points I dont know about(not sure how many will remain anyway,but I'm pretty sure I have enough for these skills.), Might get novice rifleman to qualify for the T-21 Light RepeatingBlaster as I currently dont have certification for that.
