Thread: Carbine/specials + PvP?
Hi all,
I was just wondering what carbine & specials do you guys use when fighting players ? Are there any that have advantages/disadvantages when PvPing?
Thanks in advance,
I use area mind poison.

Oh wait that is a combat medic thing huh... crap...
"Are there any that have advantages/disadvantages when PvPing?"
Well I can tell you they all have the disadvantage of killing you when you use them.

Ona positive note, work with someone who has dizzy and team up, you fire scatter shot 2 or wild shot 2 until they get dizzy to stick, than charge shot them. Other than that? go doc and buff yourself you are going to need it.
stun > bleed/kd > burst shot 2
cripple cycles much slower than BS2 and uses more ham (espeically mind), with only about a 10-15% damage gain. You will get 3 shots off before 2 shots of CS. Stun is an important carbine skill, although, i am certain it does not work all the time. NPC or PC, if it gets stunned, i watch to see if their attacks actually do go to half, but does not seem to be the case at all (by reading combat logs). It seems to work on PC's more often however.
I don't see a need to use any other skill, unless someone wants to enlighten me. I will replace KD with Supress Fire 2 only because it appears to be resisted less and has the desired effect ofstopping a pursuer/fugitive with good results.
With pets, I'll skip the stun and KD/supress them so pets are on them quicker, plus the melee dmg they inflict on a downed target makes for a very fast killing experience. But, i've designed all my gameplay to rely on carb and ch together, not each one exclusively, and I think that is the hardest mental challenge people in this game have yet to overcome about their favorite professions.
Works the same for other profs.. a doctor isn't the 'best healer' without CM skills. And a carbineer isn't a good gun support without something else... like CH.

Ok, I'm going to admit that I'm a bit of a dabbler. I've picked up BH and the first level of Carbine so that I could go ahead and have a knockdown and a cheep boost to accuracy and speed. That being said, I use the following specials
BH Knockdown
Actionshot2
Actionshot1
Heal (Did I mention I dabble in medic too?)
BH Knockdown
FullAuto2
FullAuto2
Heal
Wash, rinse, repeat.
Depends on the sitation really, using a "set" series of moves is a flawed idea in my opinion.
However I do tend to follow a pattern, with adjustsments. For example, I try to open up with a Charge Shot 1 to knock them down, then try to apply both bleeds, since they will do extra damage to a knocked down foe, as well as change their posture down.
Then a crippling shot or two, and if those hit action, I'll hit legshots after that. They might do less damage, but if my cripple did enough to his action, I can be sure those legshots will hit action too, plus the bleeds will.
You could try throwing full autos to blind, but that could end up taking several shots just for the effect, which would be a waste.
Most people like to just spam a random attack, but that can really hurt you. It might work some of the time, but every so often it will hit mind, or some other pool you arent targgeting, and slow you down.
That being said, you can bet most random specials will hit health, just because there are 7 health locations, 2 action, and 1 mind, so the odds are in the favor of hitting health.
It depends mainly on who you are fighting. BH's love to spam eyeshot, and that sucks up their action very fast. Apply bleeds and hit legshots and they may drop before your mind is out.
