I'm a carbineer 3322

I hate buffs, because I think they ruin this game in many ways, soI don't use them very often.

1. II tried fighting my wookie mate. He is novice scout and nothing else.

2. With armor The cripple shots did like less than 100 damage to him, and about 200 to me. Without they do about 100 to me and 100 to him..I hadto actually HIT him to do damage, so I ended up doing far less damage to him than I did to myself when using special attacks.

3. If I didn't use special attacks he regenerated faster than I was able to harm him. Without using special attacks I did a little less than 50 damage.

4. I've got an elite carbineer rifle that do about 107-210 damage speed 3,8.

With scattershot I did trace amoungts of damage to his mind, but not anywhere near anything that could have killed him.

I also tried figting an unbuffed novice TKA. He had 4202. I did get him down occationally thanks to dizzy and charge shot, but when he was down, theamoungts of damage I did only tickling him.

I've done rifles, pistols, Tka, fencer, commando and swordman so far on different servers. I'm not yet a master carbineer yet but I like the style of it.

When fighting unbuffed, you should also fight without armor.....with Novice Medic then the fight becomes a bit more even.

Of course your weapon is horrible in Speed and piss poor in Damage too, which of course doesn't help.

But each person has a different idea of fun, and while I don't want to be a FotM, I do want to be strong enough to SHOCK some of them by getting pwned by a toon with a Master Carbineer title

As Firehawk said, drop your armour, get a PSG, some accagaram (food) and and nicely sliced Enhanced E-11 and you'll find unbuffed PvP a bit easier.

Bear in mind that you'll have to use your specials with a little more thought than before too.

If both opponents are unbuffed wouldnt the DH-17 bear consideration. I realize that the spread is high making mitigation eat things up and that the ap is none, but the ham costs I have seen on my server are really low on the DH-17. I use the DH-17 and Acoragum to run out of the cloner unbuffed (wearing partial armor)and help my friends. Sure my dmg is nothing, but I am landing states and controlling the crowd :-)

That's something I've tried out too. Having a fast, low HAM DH17. I have one at 1.7 speed and lowHAMs (low twenties, teens).

The damage output is small, especially if the target(s) are armored. However, as an up and coming carbineer, I can still lend assistance to the fight by putting out tons of specials. For PvP, I can still help due to area/state/posture attacks. I can do the same for PvE but with /threatenshot I can rapidly force creatures to back away from our group for a little bit. With the fast speed, I can force more creatures to temporarily back off in the same amount of time span with a slower, more damaging carbine.
