Thread: Carbineer vs. Tusken Observer

Never letting a good challenge go by I thought I would finally have a serious crack at a tusken observer after yesterdays server reset. Good some good buffs, mind buffs, good my food out and powered up my acid carbines. Went out to the fort and stuck my head in the tunnel...a couple of regular tuskens aggroed me and I got rid of them. Poked my head around the corner and see 4 tuskens...tab through them and the observer is there. So I gave him a squirt with the carbine and burst run out of the cave. He follows and the others dont bother...luckily for me he stays at the cave entrance so I can hit and run on him. Over the course of about 45 minutes I did 18 532 452 points of raw damage on him....before he finally hit me with Advance Strafe Shot in the head and my armour finally falls to bits and I died. I figure he was about 25% down on health, maybe 15% down on Action and 5-10% down on Mind.
With 40% resist to acid I'm figuring that the Heavy armour he was wearing (ie rags) is pretty top stuff! I conclude that it is possible to kill him but a small element of luck would come into play:
1. Not being hit with an uber head shot is vital and there is no way of securing against that.
2. Having a brand new set of armour which you are not afraid to have taken down to 1 point by the end of the fight.
Any carbineers ever soloed one of these guys or an executioner, witch doctor etc?

I've met the Tusken Witch Doctor a month ago, while doing the Squill Cave. We were 5 unbuffed persons, wearing mabari, chitinor padded armors. No problem we killed every Squill in the cave!
... but the Witch Doctor killed me with a single shot

LOL u got pwned 
but overall when they bust out the tusken rifle it hurt time for us carbineers, Adv strafe hurts lol..........BTW did u use any dots on him besides bleeds?

Pre NPC specials the Tusken Obs was doing 3k melee & 1500 ranged a hit & as a fencer/doc he chased me for 2 miles kicking my ass off.
I imagine trying him as a carb would suck ;D

Unfortunately I have no DOT carbine decent enought to pull out on someone like that dude...lol. I tried every special known to our profession and not one state would stick on him. The only thing that consistently worked was the bleed from action shot which I saw to be ticking over at about 147 points of damage when he came and DB'd me. Thought over time it might cumulatively add up to a few extra thousand in damage but never got to find out.
He's one tough hombre.

yea there nasty little buggers, hummm do u have the enhanced e11? that would have got u a 2nd bleed. I went CM now and kinda like not needing a dot carbine even tho I have some. I suppose if u had a friend melee tank it would help also.
Your not gonna stick any stat on him but u can KD him, u might have to spam Fireknockdown or chargeshot but they do fall

The last few profs that can solo high end content like this will eventually be fixed in the Combat Upgrade.
Solo'ing content, even med-high stuff, will be a thing of the past.....thankfully. The idea of a MMORPG is grouping

To be honest, I'm glad to hear that. Not because I'm tired of having my a**e kicked by tusken observers or nightsisters etc. but because it will enhance gameplay enormously.
My only concern is my timezone. I live in Thailand and when I play at night here it is around 5 am or so EST. The server is pretty dead then and forming a group is almost impossible. I guess I might get the same response that people give about the jedi problem...."If you dont like it move to another template country". Hehe.
Seriously. If anyone out there is playing from Thailand PLEASE let me know as to date I have never met anyone else. Mabye I should move to the Japanese servers......."Konichiwa....EAT BLAZING CARBINE DEATH!!"

This is the main complaint of almost being "forced" into grouping. We can't make everybody happy, but this is being discussed as a down side to pushing too much grouping.....so your voice is being heard, I am just not sure what can be done to make both sides happy.

The observer and executioner are a bit tough for sure..........Killed me at least once..lol best to group find a good tank to help ya....I'm a loner so the uber NPC's are tough for me too.

I killed Executioner solo from second attempt, than proceeded on killing Observer. I did that while I was master swordman. First time I failed due to the 10k damage strafe shot rofl. Good job on trying, but without intimidate its rather impossible.

Yeah that is a tough one, I do NOT want it to be like COH where you have to get a group to level that just makes it more difficult to actually get out and get grinding
