All Carbine Specials, even from other profs, are listed in the FAQ with Damage and Speed Modifiers.
If you are speed capped, then don't worry about the Speed Modifier and go with the largest Damage Modifier.....otherwise you need to calculate DPS with the help of the Speed Formula, also in the FAQ.
There is also an excel speadsheet where you can put all your info about your skills and weapons and it will tell you exactly which weapon and which attack will be the most damaging.

As an ex carbineer, I would suggest scatter shots if you are going against jeedai. The heal delays of jeedai are ridiculous, and is the most effective way to kill them, using their delays to your advantage. Crippleshot is just a mean special, 5x dmg multipler(which is the common for best damage multipliers on all professions, exceptiona last ditch which is a 6x).
I have to agree about using the scatter shot, takes jedi ham down much faster. When against normal players though I use cripple shot, because i'm speed capped it does alot more damage.

Let me disspell a couple myths here.....
1. ScatterShot2 and CripplingShot do the exact same damage at the exact same speed.
2. ScatterShot2 divides itself up into 3 mini-shots that each can hit a different part of the body and H/A/M pool whereas CripplingShot is one big hit in a random pool.
3. ScatterShot2 burns through SynthSteak 3X as fast as CripplingShot.
4. ScatterShot2 will sometimes take the HAM bar down more eveningly but from my testing it still follows the 3/2/1 H/A/M ratio as all other random pool shots.....not 100% but 90% ![]()
5. Spreading shots out on all 3 pools against Jedi is more effective by causing them to heal more often and drain their FORCE POOL, regular players it doesn't matter as much.
6. I have personally watched both ScatterShot2 and CripplingShot kill via Action but not Mind on PvE targets, so saying one favors Mind Damage is not true from my experience.
Disclaimer, I am not an expert on either of these shots in PvP or Jedi hunting, but they act the same in PvE or PvP....the buffs and healing ability is the difference in PvP from PvE.

meh, i really don't care about the star system. My forum rank doesn't really effect me.
As far as Scattershot2 is concerned though. From what i have seen i am as sure as TA that Scattershot2 still follows the 3/2/1 ratio. But that being said i think where it really shines is that fact that it doesn't follow the 80/10/10 rule. So it will pick off pools more evening, but still the majority of the damage will be focused on the health pool. Which means in most cases the mind damage you will be doing will be slightly increased. Instead of 10% of the hit on the health pool, slightly more may go through and hit the blue bar.
