Decent against less than knights, but no ranged is comparable to a Knight.

If you want to hunt knights, go TKM, it's the only way. You WILL DIE going up against a Knight if not a melee class.

Not trying to flame you, but if you're looking to WTFPWN anybody, this is not the profession for you. This class is about finesse and strategy, not brute force. We do better against PC's and NPC's than against animals (dizzy does not affect creatures, and KD's PD are our greatest abilities). But nerfing has screwed over the posture control we once had.

We have been nerfed to the point that high damage, ap2lazer carbs and high minimum acid carbs our only saving grace. But high resistance to our damage types puts a damper on even that. Not to mention counterattack isn't working correctly, and we have a +15 against dizzy I think, and that's the only defense we have.

And with high HAM costs for specials, you can kill yourself faster than the enemy can.

That's the bad news, here's the good news

As a MBH/MC, you will speed cap, so you'll be spitting out specials every 1sec.

We have crippling shot, which a 7.5x multiplier. With a 400+ max damage laser carb, you can do 3000point dmg before mitigation, armor, and food buffs. This is the highest multiplier I know of.

We have AP2 (med armor piercing), so even tho most armor has 60-80% energy resists, it cuts through a little better. We also have access to acid and heat carbines (tho heat carbs have no AP), and some have bleed DOT's as well. And with MBH, you'll have LLC 4 (which most people say sucks, and it does), so that even if they have high energy resists, you have a back up.

If you master both, you'll have enough skill points left over to get pistoleer or rifleman, and steal 3 bars from one of them (I would go with either the pistoleer dodge, stat defenses, or melee resistance).

The idea of Carbineer is to keep your opponent dizzied, KD'd, PD'd, stunned, blind, bleeding, and hurting. Against a jedi, it's more or less not going to happen, because most have the ability to heal these states, or be healed of these states.

There may be some arguement to this, but the most successfull ranged class I've seen against a jedi is Pistoleer. Their defences, dodge, melee resists, and decent damage make them formidable to 'less than Knights'. Also, the don't need armor piercing since jedi no longer wear armor. The reason I did BH/Carbs is because I love carbs, and because everyone else was doing TK and pistoleer. If you want to have fun, then do whatever class you find appealing. Other else, do TKM. The game seems to be leaning in their favor atm.

The main weakness with MC/MBH is you can only pick Medic OR Brawler, not both. For awhile I've been using

Master Carbineer

BH 4400-

Medic 1040

Brawler

It was by far the most effective carbine/bh template I've ever used. I just switched back to MBH though for other reasons and I'm missing being able to heal with stim Es and intimdate very much.

It is true that ranged classes ARE weaker against knights BUT bounty hunters have the uperhand of a surprise attack.

You pick when, where, how, and every other aspect of your battle. You take the mission, you choose when to go after the knight and then the rest relies in tactics. There are players on my server who've killed knights many times and are a ranged proffession. Just depends how much time you are willing to take to plan, or if you just wanna get the mission, buff, follow the waypoint, and see who's better. I like the hunt to tell the truth, the fact that my chances of success are soley dependant on how much I prepare is the fun part.

Just what I think-

Yes, I've been like 20 different combos of Carbineer/BH/Pistoleer. Brawler and Stim Es is way clutch.
