If you take the time to learn how to use it and get yourself a good krayt carbine.
Yes, it's good for PvP

Master Carbs combined with BH Carbines 4 is one of the most underrated yet potent PvP templates in the game. But.... no novice that picks up that template is going to win duels right off the bat. It takes a lot of paitence and learning to PvP with carbines. A huge advantage to carbineers is their ability to keep their opponents in states while still doing decent amounts of damage. Having your opponent constantly dizzy, stun, and blind can be very beneficial. Plus if you pick up novice brawler you can intimidate. I don't care what weapon your opponent is using, when he's stunned and Intimidated and you have some synthsteak, he's not going to do much damage to you. Another benefit of having the BH carbines is confusion shot and fire KD. Confusion Shot is a medium-high damage attack that can almost instantly dizzy and stun your target, and Fire KD is one of the most powerful KD specials in the game. Using Confusion Shot/Fire KD combined with scatter hit or cripple shot after your target is KD, this is a sure way to win a duel.
The downside to carbineers is their lack of defenses, the best thing going for them is their +30 defense vs Intimidate. The rest of the defenses is nothing to mention b/c they're so low. Although, it is possible to add TKA 0004 to your template for defense bonuses such as melee and ranged defense and also adding Defensive Acuity, which can help tremendously in recovering from dizzy/kd's. But be warned, it will leave no room for medic skills.
So in conclusion, carbineers should never be underestimated. If a master carbineer challenges you to a duel, be wary and don't scoff at him/her. They might just pack a punch. Especially if they're packing a nice Krayt Carbine that can reach into the 700+ range after pup. Or they could be packing a stocked DXR6 carb that slices right through PSGs. So never mock the carbineer.
