I was just wondering what the majority of my fellow Carbineers out there are doing for fun now? I recently renewed my account after 4 months, and finished tweaking my template so I can survive in PvP. BHer Carbs 4, Master Carb, Pistol Tech 4, Nov Med, Nov Brawler. Currently I'm looking for a wellorganized base killing guild on Starsider, but besides PvP and base killing what PvE content can we even participate in? Most of the major POI or caves are camped by Jedi, Riflemen, or Uber Melee d3wds, and the mid level areas are crammed with grinders and loot is poor. I understand that the CURB is supost to take care of alot of these, but AP Heavy mobs/NPCs with 90% resists just kills me. My template really isn't anything to slouch at when I'm PVPing or killing mid range NPCs since I can out damage most riflemen as long as the target is at or below AP Medium. I've ran almost all the quest which get kinda boring an repetative. I'm and Imperial Colonel with a AT-ST, a full set of Stormie Armor, and an Imperial Uniform. So how are the rest of you carbineers surviving now a days money wise, PvE wise, and PvP wise?
P.S. Anyone know if legs, biceps or bracer areas can be hit in combat?

I'm in the exact same boat you are man(except I'm not a pawn of a corrupt emperor
)PvE content got old a long time ago...about all I hunt anymore are Krayts. Since my guild is almost entirely Jedi, when we go huntingI give them the pearls and I get the tissue
Occasionally I will hit some random POI; the Wep Dev Fac is usually a favorite, or the POI spawns on Lok and Dant. Nothing PvE really keeps my interest though. AllPvE provides is a source of loot for my weapons and/or selling on the forums.
What keeps me entertained more than anything, is hunting Jedi. The pickings are slim since I'm 100% ranged, and on Bria there are a lot Knights.... but it's stillloads of fun.
Factioned PvP is still very viable if done right. Top-notch equipment and a good group is required of course, but a carbineer can be extremely usefull when played correctly.
As far as legs, biceps, or bracers go, I assume you're referring to people who wear half-suits. It's a bug with composite armor where you don't need to wear the whole thing. Using legshot on someone without leggings, unfortunately, does not get around this bug. The bug comes and goes in different publishes, so I don't even know if it's working on live right now. I always wear a full suit anyway, and legs/bracers/biceps take damage as normal (biceps/bracers take less damage than any other peice. Good place for AAs)

Hey Nom! Welcome back!
I used my Carbineer exclusively for PvP and PvE, and haven't really had too much trouble with both aspects. Granted, our damage does have its shortcomings for high-level content, but a good Carbine still does a great job in many cases.
Lately I've been spending most of my time PvPing as an Imperial along with those you probably remember as AXIS (though we've changed the name of our guild and recruited a bunch of people, etc.)
Given the right equipment, I think we can atleast compete with other professions.. so I mean.. from a general standpoint, I guess I've been doing what I always do.. have fun

Welcome back!
I mainly PvE purely because of me timezone...the new aspect of the GCW is essentially off-limits for me as I cant find a base crew that operates on Asian timezones. I PvP when I can but running around buffed up looking for opponents when its 3 am on a weeknight for most people is just a waste of time. I am making most of my money from loot and at least an advantage to my timezone is that POIs and grinding spots are largely vacant when I'm on. Hit my first 10 million the other day which is a great achievement for me as I always hunt alone and cant group to hunt Krayts or Nightsisters.
Occasionally I catch a lone overt in the early hours of the morning and have a win. Got quite a few TKMs, Swordsmen, Commandos and the such notched up now. Sometimes I get ganked by Jedi or big gangs with CMs etc. Thats the way it goes and you just have to get up and get on.
Still having fun but wish I could participate more in grouped activites. Hoping that eventually there are enough people in Asia playing that we can form our own guild and have some real fun...would have expected it from the Singaporeans by now but not a squeak when I put a call out. Hope your return yields some fun and you enjoy the recent changes to the game.
All the best.

I'm primary a PvE player. Tried some PvP but not liked it so much (uber template stackers). I hope to get some more PvP:ing done after the CURB.
Either I'm hunting XP for my FS Grind (I'm trying to get jedi) but not in a uber pace or I'm hunting for some kind of loot with some friends. Have done a lot of krayt hunting lately, though I'm merely playing second fiddle to my Swordsman pal. But it's kinda fun to get loot.
Also I'm hoping to get more involved in the CGW soon. Attacking Imperial PvE bases is kinda fun but has been kinda easy so far.
Gonna do a NS raid on Dathomir on sunday with my guild. Should be fun.

Imp PvE bases (besides FO) will be much tougher now.....they now have same level guards as Reb PvE bases.

i slaughter imp npc's, but alas i will be dropping rebel to become neutral.
i have another alt i use for PVE so my carby is soon becoming jedi-hunting only.
but hunting stormies is by far some of the most fun ive had in game. especially the really high ones they are a blast to kill.
