Depends what you mean by PvP.....there are alot of different aspects to PvP and roles will be more clearly defined by each prof in the CU.....

In general a Carbineer is not currently a 1-on-1 master and I don't expect that to change......so I hope you aren't expecting Carbineer to pwn all

With the right equipment and build, you can be more than an equal in PvP. I fare better than many of my guildmates, and we're the leading Imperial PvP guild on our server. Carbineer is extremely strong.. but it's not cheap, and it takes a lot of investment. The PvP guide in the FAQ outlines some good steps to get started, but at the end of the day, PvP is about equipment and teamwork.

Teamwork just comes with practice and the right templates of your group members. A Carbineer is nothing without his team, and unfortunately, most of PvP has evolved to a "group-dueling" game where solo-ist templates usually dominate. Nevertheless, throw in a Carbineer with a few melee stackers and the right professions.. mix it all together, let the tension brew a bit.. and you've got yourself a great team. My philosophy is that there should be atleast one Carbineer for every 7-8 PvPers. Our abilities to land states and posture changes is extremely useful.

As far as equipment goes, it's all about getting good krayt carbines, complementary and supplementary SEAs depending on the Carbineer build you choose, the best armor, the best foods, and DoT weapons if possible.

Our profession does have it's drawbacks, especially when it comes to damage (in PvE), but in terms of an elitist PvP game where teamwork usually prevails, Carbineer can do very well.

I'm actually kinda dreading this...that means like, every one will be switching to ranged proffs. Carbineers will no longer be a minority, which is what i liked about the proff...ahh well..No longer the Few..but still the Proud
