Just a question, i'm 4414 carbineer (going to master - /cheer holocrons), and i'm confused about carbineer's skills.

I mean, I have a krayt laser carbine with 108-512 dmg & 3.2 speed, and Scatter Shot 2 hits for 600+ damages in PvP...or 400-700 on EACH ham if u want...
That's a bit overpowered IMHO !

What do u think ?

it wouldn't be overpower, but with your uber laser carb?! yours is twice the power i have seen on normals.

Get a regular carbine and your statement will change bigtime.

If you could make Kryat CDEF's they would be uber too..

Your find that your DPS is lower than the other weapons made with the same quality of materials.

Pistols hit nearly as hard with half the speed on them

Rifles hit harder and with the speed mods a master gets they shoot faster.

A master Carbinier has less speed mods than a Mpistoleer which makes no sense because pistols are already almost at speed cap.

I second Melampus statement. That carbine appears to have have been made with krayt tissue, then damage sliced and then powered up. That is a unique and rare weapon.

Further, after the patch likely coming this week, those Krayts are going to have 300k HAM. Krayt weapons are going to become VERY VERY rare.

Even further, you are quoting damage off the high end of that carbine. It is equally likely to hit off the low end of its damage range in which case the damage done to the target may actually be less than the HAM cost.

Its hardly a fair comparison without comparing to similarly enhanced weapons for the other professions. Ive done at least parts of all ranged profs so ill give you some numbers ive seen. Keep in mind i have a weponsmith toon as well so i usualy have some decent PVP guns. For my carbines im going to skip it cause my pure carbineer isnot as high up the tree as you. Rifles was one of the professions that i Dabbled in while working on my second crafting mastery and was only very low lvl but with my Pre nerf T21 still hit for over 3k at times so that is a one hit killer in may instances and have hunted with my master rifleman friend useing that same gun after i gave it to him doing 4-6k damage every second so SURE one hit kills in PVP regardles of Armor. With my pistols when i was a pistoleer i had some decent Krayt guns 414 FWG and cant remember my DX2 but it was around 320ish max with the light ap so the raw numbers are less but stoping shot still deals out 3k hits or so PVE so around 700 PVP still a good chance of one hit kills.

Now my BH cant hit nearly as hard as either of those 2 but still does decent damage with my nice scatter around 360max i hit for around 300-400 in PVP with the added bonus of targeting HAM pools and doing some nice Fire DOT if i dont kill um or use my 507max carbine to get some really nice status effects alrhough BHs dont have any specails that do actual damage with a carbine.

So carbines arent the only weapon that can get one hit kills in PVP everyone but BH can with a Good Krayt weapon or in the case of rifleman you dont even need a krayt just a T21.

Considering you can get non-krayt laser carbine easily over 500+ damage, yes that is pretty powerfull. But you can also get a Laser rifle to just under 700 damage which will put on some hurt.

Mokai: forgive me if I call BS on that. Carbine was my first elite class, and I have been playing since day 1. I have never had a carb with over 500 damage including slices and power ups, nor seen one on a vendor. Also the maximum damage is only one fourth of the picture. You need to also look at speed (including class speed mods, which are the lowest of the ranged classes and special attack speed mods which are slow especially for the class favorite cripple shot), Minimum damage which is about 10% of max on laser carbs the only carb doing over 300 damage base, and HAM cost which has always been high for carbines and carbine specials. There are other factors like crafting difficulty, but the four main ones are enough to put the lie to any statements about carbines being on par much less overpowered.

I have to agree with Indicant. I own no krayt carbines, but I have some of the best available with excellent damage slices and I am very sure that none of these tops 450. I believe my special PvP only carbine, when powered up, is 432 max. This is the result of high end damage slice that is non-trivial to get.

I also call BS on this. No doubt I like Laser Carbine, but 500+ dmg non-krayt? Who are you kidding. What is that? All 1000 quality resources for a 300 dmg Carbine + 40% dmg slice + power up? Maybe one with a STOCK which adds a good +25 to 30to all HAM Cost? In this case you do realize you'll be doing like 250 dmg to you action pool per shot? Since the regular about 44 action cost = about 150 avg with a special.

Furthermore, without buffs, it is very hard to use the carbine specials -- which, admittedly, deal out a buttload of damage -- in any consistent way. On the other hand, with buffs (or food) or a medic of some kind paying attention to you, it has been my experience that carbineers can deal out more damage in a group setting than any other elite ranged class.

In my opinion, the devs first concern should be with fixing our broken higher level specials, then taking a look at how that balances things out. Who knows, if burstshot2/suppressionfire2/chargeshot2 worked, we might end up being overpowered, despite HAM costs.

I Too have to call bs but i can also back it up with numbers for you.

Im a Master Weaponsmith using barels that are the same damage as all masters can make cause they dont have my variance in them. My Powehandlers are 20-40 -.4 (best ive heard of on any server non-krayt is 21-42 -.42) my Linksteel Alum ( the named resource required for all Lazer weapons) has an effectivness rating of 834.5 ( one of the best on any servers). My copper has an effectivnes rating of 943 ( havent compared but thats getting mighty close to perfect). Using this stuff i get 3.6spd and 277 max damage. Now we can use a stock to ad .5 dps and 30-30 damage to get a max of 307 now have it sliced with a perfect (read insanly rare) 35%slice still yields only 414-415 damage. So not 500 and to get that you have to sacrifice spd add to ham (30 across the board) and buy a few crates to get that perfect slice. Thats why my personal carbines are only 277 prepower up with a spd slice and my BHs PVP carbine is 507-519 max depending on what power up i use. To get that i had to use Krayt tisses and only got a crappy 25%slice

I am a master carbineer, I have seen and used a lot of carbines. I have NEVER seen a non-krayt laser with damage above 500. You sir are lieing.
