people im bored and lonely so i thoughi would start the silliest/useless thread of the day
if u had one choice of unslicedcarbine for pvp and pve what would that carbine be?
Im just confused by all the choices and wondered what other carbineers were using other all other carbs
im still experimenting with all the carbines but i find even though it has its down sides the laser carbine suits me well - however i reckon i will forgot about the elite (apart from it looking cool it sucks) and move onto theDXR6

General purpose, get the job done, any day of the week, twice on Sunday would be the Elite Carbine.
Armor piercing, fairly high damage, tight damage range, and I've never seen a 100% Energy resistant mob, though I've seen a few 100% Acid resistmobs.

Don't get out much do ya?
There are plenty of NPC nasties hanging around the Village on Dath that I can't touch with any damage type in my bag of goodies.
And my personal vote is for the Laser followed closely by the DXR6. An equally built Laser will be equal to an equally built Elite against Ranged Mitigation Level 3 even, so against all other targets the Laser will be better. I don't think I have equiped my Elite in weeks....
But in general I don't like choosing just one Carbine. The major premise of Carbineer is THINKING and using all our tools to gain the upper hand, so you need to be FULLY prepared with ALL options. Although I often find that the EE3 being AP0 nearly reduces our damage types to TWO.....sad so sad.....

DXR-6 in a heartbeat. Lots of reasons as well. Decent Damage and AP, the Damage spread is tight which is a must for PvP, as well Acid is better for PvP that Energy IMO. Plus on the RP note, i think the DXR-6 looks and sounds better than any other carbine we have.

Yeah, I do need to get off of Dantooine more often, but with the recent pop of Scaley hide on Naboo being pretty awesome and my Rebel Marines needing Padded Armor, I was embarassed when I was fighting a number of Vine Rawls and couldn't hurt them with the All Purpose DXR-6 I have.

Don't shoot acid guns at Nabooian snakes, it won't work very well.
Especially not the spitting rawls!

DXR6 for one single reason:
acid damage is one of the only damage that bypasses PSGs, otherwise PSG+ARmor stack, wich sux for most other damage types.
plus crafted dxr6 are the best I've seen, from lefteris on eclise
even for regular PvP, acid is a smarter choice than stun, because of that psg/armor stacking thingy.
stun composite have lesser base stats than kinetic ones, and with a psg, the stun protection gets higher than the base one. and in the rare case when the comp is all efficiency sliced, there will be nearly NO difference between a stun or an acid gun
