Hello, Im a rifleman/BH thinking about becoming Carabineer, because of the tactical options your proffesion has.
Im only worried about losing my mind attack abilities.
The main mind attack for Carabineer is Scattershot2 right?
How does it compare to Rifleman Headhit3?
Any reply is welcome

It doesn't (TA, lemme field this, then you can send her to the FAQ
). Scattershot is a CripplingShot equivalent damage special that breaks the damage into three chunks and applies it to a random pool. Sometimes one third to each pool, somes two chunks to one and one to another, sometimes all three to one.
Its the best percentage shot we have of hitting the Mind pool, but its not guaranteed.

In other words, you can say goodbye to Mind Damage if you become a Carbineer.
Also, the main attack for Carbineers isn't really ScatterShot2. In most cases, FullAutoSingle2 will give better DPS. If speedcapped, CrippleShot gives better (health/action) damage. ScatterShot is only used if an opponent is low on mind and we want to 'risk' hitting that pool specifically.
Furthermore, we complement our attacks with posture changes, namely ActionShot2 and ChargeShot2. You're never going to have to spam a single attack over and over again.. which may be a relief if you're tired of using HS3 and SniperShot all the time, heh.

Scattershot2 is the same as Cippleshot, not sure on the exact mod but it is less, plus Scattershot1 only spreads across 2 pools. So as far as mind damage is concerned not your best bet.
Scattershot2 will always hit the mind pool just like any other attack will. But it is definitely not the even 1 in 3 chance everyone thinks it is. For a PvP carbineer it is far more effective to attack the health or action pools. If mind damage is what you are looking to keep i would definitely think carbineer is not your best option. It can be done, but rifleman will do it better and with greater ease.

Rifleman is really no better against Jedi than Carbineer.
Jedi can heal mind as easily as any of they're other pools.
Once a Jedi reaches MLS you need to employ "tacktikz"
Please note Carbineer "tactics" and BH "tacktikz" are completely different things.
Carbineer "tactics" are great... but, completely useless against 85% block.
BH "tacktikz" work against anything / anyone / any templatebut... you need to have the MBH special skill mod labled "Moral Ambiguity" which only works when you have TEF and your opponent does not *wink
lol

One of the reasons I want Carabineer is because of Sprayshot, tho I have never tested it on jedi's.
Sprayshot has good damage and dizzy, and I know dizzy stops my mark from Burstrunning, but does it stop forcerun? I dont know..
anyone tested it? maybe thats more of a BH question tho

SprayShot is a Master Bounty Hunter level special.. so you won't find too much info on it here. The BH forums are your best bet as to how reliable it is..
..but needless to say it's an awesome special. I believe it applies a Dizzy, Stun and Blind at your target while dishing out a lot of damage too. Its states inflict *very* easily and are pretty 'sticky'.
The only problem is, you need MBH to have it, which means your defenses will stink. Unless you're grouped with a melee, there's no way SprayShot will help you kill a smart Jedi. Invest enough SP to make SprayShot worthwhile (like Master Carbineer or some of the Carbineer speed and accuracy trees) and you'll be a bit better off.. but again, the lack of defenses will kill you.
But it's a good special, yup.

Scattershot is the BEST shot to use against jedi. It usually ends up giving out a good amount of damage to each pool, causing jedi to use more force to heal it.
Once they run out of force, you are theres
i use it ALL the time. Love it.

Wow, I was in the exact same boat as the original poster.... A rifleman/BH who went carbineer/BH. All I can say is that I love carbineer. Yes, your mind hit capabilities will suffer compared to rifleman, but you can really nail those defense stackers up close. Hope that helps.
