elite carbines suck.

they have only light AP and their damage is nowhere near that of a laser. They do on the contrary have very good high to low damage ratio so that not much is mitigated however they dont do enough damage and with armor resistance to energy, low ap rating, and PSGs they are useless.

For PvP:

The laser is a better choice against a melee combatant who cant mitigate the damage and the high AP rating allows a punch to get through defenses and armor.

Otherwise the DXR6 is the gun of choice due to its acid damage. It has a good ratio so mitigation isnt a problem and its acid damage bypasses psgs and get on usually the lower defenses of armor.

And for PvE purposes keep an ee3 around when heat is vulneralbe.

Basically a %30++ Speed sliced Laser Carbine should be a good grinding weapon (like 2.5 Speed 280 Max with no powerup)

%30+ Speed sliced Nym's carbine is awesome also..(2.9 102-217)

EE3 is cool to have around if a creature is vulernable to heat (a 2.0 or faster EE3)

Your all purpose carbine is the laser though.

Take it easy guys. You dont know how old he is. Yes, he is obviously new, but why explode on him for asking a question.

Brail, when in the game, simply hit the ctrl-v to open the planetary map. Double click on "Vendors" and then double click on "weapons". Locate a weapons shop nearest your location and go find an elite carbine on it.

Might want to look for vendors containing the following words:

Carbines

Ranged Weapons

If you're looking at stock Elite carbines, expect to see 3.0 or so speeds, and around 110-220 or so average damage.

These things just aren't impressive without some enhancement. A Laser Carbine or an Enhanced E11 would better serve you.

And guys, asking us WHERE to look might not be appropriate, but you could at least tell him what to look for when he does go out there to find them. This ain't Scylla, and we do try to keep things less obnoxious here. Save the attitudes for the server boards.
