Thread: Charge Shot 2 Question

Is it still broken?


If not, is it worth giving up any CounterAttack for?

It works, quite a popular choice in fact. After publish 7 most of our specials got fixed, there is a great run down on the status of all our specials in FAQ, you should read up, sounds like you are a pre 7 carbineer, so the info in there will likely help alot

Thanks for the quick reply!


Keep in mind, in my particular situation, I will have to give up either the top box of CounterAttack or the top box of Carbine Accuracy to get Charge Shot 2.


Is that trade off worth it?

Top box of counterattack is probably your best bet, since accuracy will help out a lot more than a little extra counterattack

Yes, I've thought about giving up the top box of counterattack. That would give me +60 CounterAttack instead of +80.


Is ChargeShot 2 worth that? My MBH character already has some devastating carbine shots. Is Charge Shot 2 worth it? Is it overkill for an MBH?

Well you have to realize ChargeShot2 is a Cone Effect Special, so if you are only attacking one target at a time, then it is a complete waste of time. But if you want to KD a group all at once, then ChargeShot2 is your only option.


It works just like ChargeShot1, except it is a Multi-Target Special.

Charge shot 2 is totaly useless, here is why :


As you might already know if you use kd or posture change on already kded character you will put them back on their feet. So......lets say you are fighting 3 people and you try to use charge shot 2, one of them gets kd the other 2 resist it ( which happens alot due to stat defence ) Now you hit charge shot 2 again to kd the other 2, you will put the one u already kded back on his feet. So in other words, its called a multi-attack kd, but its really single target kd and in the case above it can backfire big time. Cause then you will have to wait another 30secs to land a kd.

Which is why KDs come in two flavors. You unload for the Dizzy,drop a CS2, then use CS1 to take down anyone dangerous who resists the charge blast. I've personally dropped 5 out of 6 PvP enemies and worked the last one over with FireKD till I get him or just eat the damage and keep the Area Pain on the downed ones.

Your general concept of ChargeShot2's problem is only partially correct. The KD only lasts 5 seconds unless Dizzy, so that is all the longer you have to wait to fire ChargeShot2 again. While I hate macros for combat, just put it on a 5 second timer and macro it if that helps.


There is no harm firing any KD special while the 25 second Immunity Timer is ticking away after they have stood back up from the 5 second KD. Personally I use this on creatures so Dizzy never comes into play. Using this on NPC's and PC's is tricky while trying to get the Dizzy/KD stuck is what you are referring to and not ALL CASES.


ChargeShot2 is not totally useless and I will be pushing for it in the Combat Upgrade....along with some Cone and % improvements of course

What I do against multiple targets is use a few FAA2's to try to spread some states, including dizzy, around. Then I'll take a position to make use of a cone CS2. I then use FireKD (CS1 works well for you non-BHs) on the remaining targets that are not KDed. In PvP I use the same strategy, only I use Action Shots 1 and 2 in place of the KDs.

i'm new to the carbineer forums, but IMO, carbineer is a support class. Charge2 is AWESOME for raids, and for pissing large groups of people off. I went on a raid a few weeks ago, and i was the last one left. everyone quit, so i ran in to the base, spammed charge2,fullautoarea2,charge2,fullautoarea2.... I dizzy/kd about 6 people within 4 shots. I love charge shot2, but you have to be dedicated with carbineer to be able to use every shot to its full extent.

Yeh well it doesn't hurt to use kd while the timer is on, but its also uselss lol But thank you alot, i would love to see a change in charge shot 2.
