From what I understand, the Proton Carbine, which is a Master Bounty Hunter cert'ed weapon. There's a quest involved to attain this weapon, but I haven't tried it. The E5 Carbine is available also, but is a Master Squad Leader cert'ed weapon also.

But I don't go for special, fancy, rare, or overpriced gear. I prefer a good, reliable weapon at a fair cost.

Actually the E5 and E11 Mk2 are nearly identical. DPS difference is less than 0.25% on mine, and I know the components for crafting are the same. The only difference I see is that my particular E11 Mk2 has double the damage % of the E5, which makes little difference in real game play terms I think. Certainly for hunting for 5 minute PvP battles.

I think the E5 and E11 Mk are best overall, but the Czerka is best for Kinetic damage. Usable only by 0400 BH, I believe. Laser is fine for heat elemental damage, but it doesn't seem to actually do a lot of it.

One day as I was looking in my Inventory I saw a shiny 800/800 condition Proton Carbine just sitting there. I was Master BH and had a few things in Carbineer too, but not enough to make a major difference in combat. Since then I have repec'ed my character to MBH/MCarb/Pistoleer 4004 and the Proton looks better than ever for Jedi hunting.

It has a base DPS of 337 or somthing to that effect. With my current template, however, my Modified DPS is now 534.75, I think that is pretty sweet.

True, I like the look of the E5 Carb, but I am not a Squad Leader. I might get a E11mk2 to replace my old laser carb, but I probably wont. And I am still searching for a Czerka Dart Carbine for a Kinetic damage alternative, but havn't found one in my price range.

Oh, I also have a sweet HC Scatter that does a modified DPS of around 509.
