Hello,

In my profession weapons are very important, however I haven't found a good guide which explains what makes a good weapon. I was hoping some of you who were knowledgable in this area could give us clueless individuals some help with weapon stats and what to look for in a good weapon.

Thanks in advance!

There is a great guide published by Ximog on Allakhazam's SWG website.

http://swg.allakhazam.com/db/guides.html?guide=62

If the link does not work, go the the Fan Sites link off the main SWG site and find Allahkazam. The guide is listed under the Profession Guides on SWG Allakhazam site and is titled "Marksman - A Marksman's Guide to Weapons".

1. Its a good carbine but not great, it seems like a poor carbine sliced, the dmg is good, fair dps but the SAC(special attack cost) is slightly higher than wanted for pvp, so i guess its all down to what u want to use it for, also accuracy is important, i suspect its accuracy 17 or 18?

only real way of telling is when ur in combat and how u find the weapon, slow? good dmg? or special action cost problems?

2.

Estimated Damage Per Second - its new to all of us - i personally still its unclear to how it really affects us, i have done tests between high dps and lower dps and it does seem theres a second difference on the specials timers, so a good weapon is really a balanced weapon

base DPS (damage per second)= ((min dmg + max dmg)/2)/base_speed

modified DPS = ((min dmg + max dmg)/2)/ur_modified_speed

well, ive found something out about DPS since the CU has taken affect... DPS isnt the stat that should determine wether a weapon is good or not, ive actually found out that id rather go for a "Harder Hitting" Carbine more than a carbine with 65757657 DPS, lol. simply for the fact that accuracy comes into play and stuff.... i guess id rather hit for more damage, than play by averages and miss 4 shots before one finally lands on the target when you are almost dead at first i was a DPS maniac always looking for a better DPS, but it really doesnt help you if you cant hit the target for the damage you should be hitting for....
