I'm a Vet that is just now starting the wide world of Carbines. Basically, I need to know if there is a post abotu the Cooldown effect for Carb and BH specials. I was a MBH/Mpistol for the defense before the CU...but I respec'd to Carbs. I just need to know what the cooldowns are for the specials, or a post that has them

The absolute longest cool down timer Ive seen in carbineer , is like 4 seconds. Pistoleer was the worst with stopping shot at like 2 minutes, and burst run is like 3 minutes I think. Carbs is the best compliment to BH I have ever played before.

so, they are pretty muchthe same for all of them then? I have not noticed a huge difference in the CD for the specials.

From what Ive seen, I did a personal in game test on all the rnged professions mixed with BH. well here ill get it and post.

Hi guys, by now most of you have finished your templates and know what your gonna do, It never hurts to see the other guys template though, and this should give you and Idea.
BOUNTY HUNTER-COMBAT MEDIC --------23 SKILL POINTS REMAINING
This was testedusing an Advanced scatter pistol.
Accuracy +125
Speed+ 60
Melee Defense +165
Ranged Defense+170
Can use Battle andAssault armor.
Due to lack of defense, lack of actions, and lack of a main DMG shot or action I wasnt impressed. Although Combat medic would be a vital part of a group, and healing yourself is a very nice action. I cant get behind the C-med, BH template, just not enough power if your hunting Jedi.
BOUNTY HUNTER-SMUGGLER-------------------23 SKILL POINTS REMAINING
This was tested using an advanced scatter pistol.
Accuracy +170
Speed +85
Melee Defense +165
Ranged Defense +185
Can use Battle and Recon armor
If this template was for someone who PvE'd a lot or fought in groups it wouldnt be bad. However, even though I wasnt impressed, it does offer some very real treasures in the template. Such as Last Ditch ,witch is a very powerful attack now post CU, and the +RooT+ this profession offers isone of thebest in the game. I think Concussion alone is somewhat worth it.

This was tested using an Advanced scatter pistol.
Accuracy +200
Speed +105
Melee Defense +215
Ranged Defense+230
Can use Recon and Battle armor
Definitly one of the most fun I tested. This "lil number" packs a nice punch, with advanced stopping shot as the +Root+ of all evil. I was ultimatly impressed with how it handled in most situations with melee fighters , but the limited range will make this temp nothing more than a "Dabblers Dream". 35 range hurst when the jedi have a range of 32 meters.

This was used testing a Proton Carbine.(ryyat trails , kashyyyk from the human dressed in wook armor)
Accuracy +225
Speed +105
Melee Defense +185
Ranged Defense+210
Can use Battle and Assualt armor.
This is by far the most fun I had of all the ranged templates. Dmg dealing, nice snare , great range, and it can all stack fairly well. The main reason I liked this template so much is the fact it passed the test in every situation I put myself in, except a master defender. Melee fighter, Ranged fighters, and some jedi. PvP or PvE this is by far the best thing I found.

This was tested using a Laser Rifle.
Accuracy +245
Speed +120
Melee Defense +150
Ranged Defense +215
Can use Battle or Recon armor.
All I can say is wow. This is a fine template for those who like hitting from a distance when those peski jedi run like forrest gump. This has it all and I mean all, DMG , Range , Defense, Speed, accuracy, and only has one problem. ITS BROKEN!
Not nearly as bad as some would have you believe, but it needs a little tweaking for sure. When thisProfession is functioning properly, my god watch out cause snipers have returned to star wars.
Now to my commando friends I am sorry , but I simply didnt have time to properly feel this one out. All these templates where tested on melee-TKM MSWORDS, Ranged MBH-MPISTOLS, and various jedi. What I did find is that there is no be all to end all ranged template to mix with BH. Some jedi will fall against a pistoleer , some against a carbineer and some against a rifleman, But you can bet a master defender (who is a pvp jedi not an ebay jedi)will take you down NO matter who you are. So I hoped I could help , and see you all in game....
As far as the cool downs , I noticed that (action consumption + power + effectivness + recharge) = Carbineer is the most effective. I added in pistoleer 0404 with MBH Mcarb , and its awesome.

Quick pop-in on this thread.
Before CU I was MBH and Master Carbineer. I have yet to do any respecting, or flipping around. Now am I missing the boat by staying master carbineer??? Or should I be moving some skill point around?
