Thread: Carbs the new FOTM?
I think people are trying out a bunch of professions, and Carbineer is a good balance. I was a Smuggler/Pistoleer/TKM but that wasn't possible anymore, so I had to respec. Pistols and Smuggler are somewhat redundant, so I went with Carbineer to get some more punch. I am really liking it so far!
Carbineer isn't the "FOTM" by a longshot.
Bounty Hunters are. Heck, even I respec'ed to MBH recently.
Well MBH isn't much of a threat alone. Of course no single profession is a threat alone thanks to the darned level system in place.
The carbineer/bh template allows for "decient" defense and adequate punch. For advanced "nuking" rifleman/bh seems to be the way to go. An old blast from the past, pistoleer/bh, is pretty wicked despite the range limitations. Commando seems to be pretty borked atm. At least when I tried the commando/bh template. Only two weapons worth using (flamethrower and lighting cannon) and they are both invitations to getting group aggros. BH/smuggler is pretty interesting but overall not as usefull as you would think. But if it wasn't BH it would be doc hands down.
So you could say that MBH/(insert profession here) is the new fotm. But then what choice did the devs leave us? You need two masteries to be effective. MBH is classified as a tanking profession. Armor doesn't absorb as much as it used to (thank god). But instant stim packs are rather a pain with the 1 min cooldown that comes with them. Especially when your hitting things your level for the base damage of your weapon with your best damaging special (after the mysterious armor resists they have)while they are hitting you for around 3 times base damage with a basic attack(400dmg with a scout blaster andplaced shot??? come on...). Makes it even more interesting since they have an average of 2.5 times your ham and the regen to match it seems. That and NPC's don't seem to have timers forcertain specials like disarming shot and charge shot.I would know this cause I justhad a 6min or so battle with an npc two levels below me. He kept on spamming disarmingshot and I couldn't attack for 90% of the battle. But this is faction NPC's im reffering to. And it seems they ran a balance pass over that....I guess.

Rifleman specials needing cover/distance/blahblahblah = boring
Carbines aoe, good range, no annoying restrictions on specials and arent the special action sluts they used to be = mmmm delicous
