Thread: It seems everything is too easy or too hard. Where should i hunt at novice carb?
I am working towards my first skill in the carbine profession and im sick of killing gorgs for 50 experience. I also only have 2 thousand credits in my inventory. I have traveled to endor just to take a look around and noticed that not only is it rediculously hard, but the missions there can pay over 20 thousand credits. Most the missions on the starting planets i have noticed only pay 1 thousand at most. At novice carbineer where might i find some mission terminals that will give me missions i can handle (harder than gorgs and nunas) and with pay atleast a few thousand credits. There must be somewhere in-between that i can hunt to get more exp and more money. I know there is better things to hunt but i really want to make some money.
please help me out. im dirt poor.
Greater Desert Womp Rats are your friend. Group with a droid or a pet and they're worth 2300xp. The faster the carbine the better.
There's two strategies, one is without a Tatooine Sunburn. You just use normal attacks with the occasional ActionShot1 (or 2, but make sure not to hit any other creatures with the AOE). It does take a while but it will save on your own HAM bars. The second is with a Tatooine Sunburn. You just chain ActionShots with LegShots and you're all set.
I find Talus a good place for novice carbine xp. Torturs are big, slow and nice xp. Hit em with actionshot 1 or 2, depending on how brave you feel. I usually go to max range, regardless of accuracy modifier, fire off to actionshots, then hit them with normal attacks, once they get up and start moving two more actionshots, normal attacks, repeat until they fall. Tortur bulls should be worth at least 3k carbine xp.
Added to this, they don't group attack, don't deathblow and are generally passive.
With two levels filled in the carbine tree I'm happy to line up 3 or 4 of em at a time. Sure you'll get incapped some times, but unless your really unlucky you shouldn't die.

when you can get the missions on corellia...grondas and war grondas. they're big, have 5k ham, light armor, and 50% energy resist...but are vulnerable to acid (and heat too, i think). they're very vulnerable to pc/kd (while we still hav eit) and give pretty good exp solo (600 with 3 bxes to master carbineer for the grondas, 2k for the war grondas). war grondas hav eno armor but higher base resist...not sure why, but /shrug. also, the wars assist, but i can easily take on 3 by myself. they tend to come in pairs of 2 though.
It's hard to suggest any missions with decent pay outs any more. I used to pull crazed durni missions on Corellia for 3-3.5k a piece, even tho they didn't give good xp. Unfortunately for some reason those disappeared. I have yet to find a really good type of mission yet, but the best I can say is get a CH friend and go get some 10k missions and have the pet tank everything 
For the past week or two I've got all my money off faction missions, since I needed FP at the same time. Yes, thats right...I do missions for hours that pay about 1k, 2k at most. Pretty **edit** sad.
I love dantooine. Huurtons (regular not the other variants) are perfect targets for action shot 2. Get em in a group and just spam it, before your life is all gone as many as 6 huurtons will drop dead. Great exp, like 2-3k per huurton...I level up like crazy there. I also hunt Bol the same way...any varaint is ok with Bol...unless the shot misses.
