Your post really couldn't have come at a worse time. You are correct in your observation that the majority of our specials were meant to pin targets down. However the most recent patch has basically nullified our ability to do so.
However, before the patch it was actually pretty fun playing support fire for the rest of the group with single target and aoe posture down.
I have hopes that the devs will pull their heads out of their arses on this one and get rid of the 30sec timer on posture change. But until they do, I'd recommend pursuing another combat line.
I concur. Before the patch it was kinda fun, even with some broken skills. With the new patch, I doubt if you can kill anything yellow without buffs. Before the patch, I can handle 3 stormtroopers, now I doubt if I can even handle 1. Pick up CH or better yet, pick up BH. I have been Master Carbineer for a month now.....patience running low.
as it stands now, no. i wouldn't recommend carbineer to anyone, for any reason. the only true reason to be a carbineer is to help with crowd control (look to our specials...1/3 are pc/kd). that means, with this swing of the nerf bat, we got hit the hardest, espcecially due to specials that STILL do not work. and high ham costs. isn't it funny how they're STILL investigating problems with our profession, and yet this goes into effect w/o any apparent investigation?
turn on defenses, already...if you fix broken things with classes on the same ratio you nerf them (1 to 1) until everything is fixed, WE WOULD HAVE A PERFECT GAME ALREADY!!
i've been a carbineer since hour 1, and although everything else has changed (i've mastered, and dropped, every basic profession at least once...as well as all the hybrid professions and a large number of elite professions) i've been sticking to it. this is it. i'm about 2 f#*(!*$ days away from surrenduring my skills and becoming a d*!( dancer.
