Thread: Adjusting to the new patch new hunting methods

Well since the traditional method of hunting for us is completly gone, lets think up some new ways.

We can no longer rely soley on posture changes to hunt.

What are our alternatives?

Well for one, we have traps. I know a lot of people have scout skills, theres a handy trap in Trapping 4 that slows a critter down a lot. However it's duration is pretty short. So heres an idea.

Craft up a bunch before you go hunt. Hunt using the following method:

Throw a posture change(AS1 + AS2 to start bleeds/posture change)

Continue with regular attacks or legshots until the critter moves towards you.

Toss a trap. Critter is slowed to a crawl. Keep popping him

Once the critter moves faster, either toss another trap - or try another posture change to see if the timer is up. If timer is still on, throw 1 trap and try again. Eventually you will figure out how many traps you need to throw between posture changes. It's a bit more of a pain, and more work, but hey, whatever works.

Another solution. Warning Shot. Slap bleeds on them, and pop them with warning shots. Let them run off and bleed. If they come back, warning shot them some more. Continue till they are dead. You can also combine this with the above. Anyone else have any methods that work post-patch?

Im dissapointed we were weakened when we are already a very broken and underplayed profession - but lets face it. No one is really paying attention to us, and so we have to deal with it. Figure out new ways of hunting.

Train Creature Handler.

Then you can use whatever combo of specials you want.

Well any combos that work.

Ok, maybe just the Actionshots (until the stacking is nerfed, or the bleed duration dropped to 1 second)

But really reducing the action bar of your enemy isn't complimentory to your tank pet which is reducing the enemies Health Bar.

Second thoughts... train pistoleer and do health bleeds.

Final conclusion: you need a tank, train CH and Pistoleer. Done.

Just whines.... everywhere.... it's sad.

The devs are a bit slow, sure. But there are several other things in game not fixed yet and the carbineer isn't that much broken.

Bounty Hunter LLC changes were a bit much if you ask me, but i still won't go away from my Carbine..

Mind you i was a master pistoleer before i surrendered my skills and i'm working up the carbine tree. I think the carbine is the better weapon for most cases (2 AP1, 1 AP2 weapon). Once all Armor issues are fixed you will only see armored targets in PvP. Try to make damage then as pistoleer..

HAM costs are high of the carbine, a bit to high - waiting for a patch on this to reduce it a bit. But you can bypass this very easily - buy Sunburns or get Docotr buffs.

I'm a Master Doc and don't go out unbuffed - i have zero HAM Costs on my Carbine wiht those and Spam Full Auto. With Sunburns you will regen so fast that you can almost spam the styles.

Btw, i still solo red cons on Lok... (with my buffs).. it just takes way to long and it's way more efficient to chain white to yellow cons.

Get a Rock Beetle Pet, this nice little stupid things are pretty good. It can tank an elder snorbal male for about 2mins. Then fire away. If needed heal the pet.

If you don't want a pet, kite the snorbals... If the snorbal comes to close pin it with action shot 1 or use Charge Shot and gain distance again (they are on a different timer)

actually the last patch didn't change anything for me - only that PvP is more fun cause noone can spam Knockdown on me.
