Thread: BH Carbine and Carbine Skills
I'm looking at making character based on BH Carbines 4 and Level 3 in each of the Carbine skills.
What advantage would that be (if any) over Master Carbineer?
It pretty much grants you the speed of a pistol with the damage of a carbine, plus when you are standing still, kneeling, or prone you have a better accuracy then just with Master Carbineer.

I would honestly say that BH Carbine 4 and either Carbineer 0300 (Crippling shot) or Carbineer 0010 are all you need. At this level you are +85 speed and over +100 accuracy. At +85 speed you have hit gardenhose state where you will fire at 1.0 second no matter the special you use evenif usingslowish (3.5 sec reload) carbines.
I have BH Carbine 4 and Carbineer 0300 and I fire crippling shot at 1 sec. It's insane power...at absolutely INSANE HAM cost. I went with Cripple because it is the most damage special in the carbine tree. However, I am going to grab burstshot1 this weekend as many feel it is almost as good as cripple but uses less ham.
For HAM comparison, using my laser carbine I fire: Legshot3 (same HAM as LS2) at 100 HAM per shot, KnockdownFire is 186, Fullautosingle2 is 146 and Crippleshot is 126.
This being said, this is alot of firepower. But, fireknockdown aside, pistoleers have just as much power if they do the same thing.A BH 0040 (pistol tree) with pistoleer 0030 (stopping shot) will fire stopping shot which does less top end dmage than cripple but VERY consistant damage. I was fighting a BH last night with this build and he hit me with scatter pistol stopping shots for 350-400 literally every second (this is after the 75% reduction). When you figure in the damage he did to me, and the damage I did to myself with my HAM costs, and that Igot unlucky with my crippleshot rolls on my laser carbine (scatter pistol+stopping shot does not have this problem) he dropped me. However, a nearby medic popped me up before he could DB me and I landed a fireknockdown followed by 2 more cripples to incap him. The battle would have been far harder for me if the guy used eyeshot, which he clearly finds unfair since he wasnt using, and drained my mind.
Basically, what I am saying is you only need the BH line for speed and fireknockdown then 1 good special from the carbineer line and you have all you need. You will be very powerful in PvE and PvP, but you still do not stand a chance against an equally well built pistol PvPer. Pistols have just as much speed, just as much damage and, more importantly, consistant damage all for much lower HAM. I am also planning to try a DXR6 sliced for damage and powered up this weekend as well. That may hit more consistantly.
Not true.
First knockdown wins a fight.
I have Master Carbineer with 3 boxes of BH carbine.
If I knock my opponent down first I always win. It's that simple.
Usually if I get knocked down first.. I lose.
Untrue. Knockdowns do not win fights.
Dizzy knockdowns might make you win.
These skillsfail to knockdowntoo much after all the nerfs. The BH/pistoleer from above is the perfect example. I started the fight with fireknockdown...it hit but didn't knockdown or dizzy. Same with second attempt. He incapped me. When I popped up, the fireknockdown landed and I won.
It's a one-trick pony build. If the knockdown hits, you win. If not, you are in big trouble because you are spending ~190 on a knockdown move and ~125 on your damage move. You only need to fire 4-5 times and you have yourself 50% of theway to being incapped (unless you are usingfood, spice or buffs).Further, with the 30 second timer in place, in multiperson battles, there are alot of people running around that are "knockdown immune" which takes away your 1 trick and turns the battle in a DPSvsDPS battle and if you get bad damage rolls off your laser carbine you will easily be dropped.
Face it. This build is based on luck. Does the knockdown/dizzy land? Yes = you win. No = uh oh see next question. Does the cripple strike get a couplehigh end hits in a row? Yes =you win. No = see ya at the cloning center.
I am also trying to not be too attached to this build as they are going to nerf Dizzy soon. It already has no effect in PvE...in 1 or 2 more updates it will certainly be weakened.
Man why does everyone love Fire Knockdown so much.
I find underhand to KD 90 percent of the time.
Man, why does everyone love Fire Knockdown so much?
Because if you get both dizzy and knock-down the target has a good chance of falling down again when they try to get back up. This means you can have more than one knockdown inside of the 30 second timer and you can focus on high-damage shots while the target is trying to get up and can't respond.
has anyone built a BH/carb this way?
