To be honest, I'm a BH going for master and only dabbling in Carbineer. I have different weapons for every occasion that I pull out for different damage types and specials but I use carbines the most. I've tried most of the carbinesand I like them a lot aside fromt eh obvious HAM disadvantage.

The Elite Carbine is my favorite when it comes to taking out targets weak against acid, it also has light armor piercing. Watch your HAM when using specials, of course.

Laser Carbine is my favorite for armored targets. It has medium armor piercing and does energy damage.

There's alsoa heat damage Carbine I use on occasion that I can't remember it's name(it's on my hotkeys like half the other weapons I have). I don't think it has armor piercing, but I could be wrong.

My overall favorite is the DH-17 Short Carbine. People tend to think that they need to move on the different weapons as they climb the skill trees, but a lot of weapons have their places. Even though it's in the first block of carbines in marksman and only does fair amounts of energy damage, it has two advantages over all the other carbines I've tried. It's very fast and it's got low HAM costs. It looks like I'm almost shooting an endless spray of shots out. I use this gun to knockdown and dizzy my mark and if the dizzy doesn't stick I can hit him again with another shot to make the dizzy stick before s/he gets up again with minimal HAM loss.As a matter of fact, my most used weapon is a custom DH-17 Short Carbine with a high damage capacitor built in.

Elite is energy...DXR6 is acid...think you just had a little mixup there. I agree though, love my DH17. :-)
