Even after reading the FAQ sticky I still havea couplequestions:
1) When I created my new character I did it with the rifleman profession in mind, therefore I created a Mon Cal to prepare for heavy mind costs for specials. I changed my mind and am now leaning towards carbineer, but will the Mon Cal be suitable for this? So far most of my HAM costs seem to be coming from my action pool, not my mind pool, so I see major trouble down the road. Are any of you playing Mon Cal carbineers?
2) How do you overcome the carbine's horrible accuracy in the early stages of combat? I've found that if I don't kill a creature before it sees me, I end up jumping on my swoop to escape or face certian incap. My to-hit is about -44 at point blank range!?! What are some tactics that you use to overcome this?
Thanks.

1) Get buffed....I play a Zabrak and Bothan and both are maxed on mind/focus/willpower and all species should do that for all profs.....nothing unique here.
2) Tough one, get scopes on your Carbines....get a tank and go /kneel or /prone.....or pickup BH
Pickup some >70% Ubese and the critters won't hurt you when you stand toe to toe with them

Some other ideas I used to bypass the issues with accuracy:
1) When you see the enemy, go /prone (or at least /kneel). This will give you a couple of "free shots" before the enemy notices you
2) /aim is your friend, especially in conjunction with #1 or when the enemy is at point blank range. I used to type in a the command line: "/aim;/aim;/aim/;/overchargeshot;/aim;/aim;/aim;/overchargeshot;", although if I was smart I would probably have written a macro (I know, I know...)
3) I used /pointblanksingle and /pointblankarea quite a bit at very low levels. (Not including when I was running around Theed spamming the area attacks to get lots of aggros.) For me it noticed a decent increase in accuracy when a chuba was attacking me at 1m
9,683 more to go...
Edit:
I thought it was mentioned, but didn't see it.
4) Go /kneel, even when being attacked. You will take more damage, but if buffed it shouldn't matter (especially with armor, if you are so inclined).
