PS. NEVER use fireKD. Its twice as effective to use confusion shot + underhand shot.

Hi to all you carbineers out there.

I am currently master rifleman with 3400 BH. I am doing this merely as I would like to be a BH - but want a different weapon style to most of them. My question is, how is carbineer with the x4xx from BH added? I should find it quick and easy to level up with the extra speed and such - but for pve and pvp would I be better off keeping rifles? I mainly play solo, and don't play in large pvp battles, it would mainly be geared towards fighting jedi.

Thanks for any advice/opinions you can offer.

Carbines can be useful in PvP for their status effects. The slowest special (crippling shot) maxes on a 4.0 speed carbine with +90 carbine speed skills. I've found that the area effects used by Carbineers are the most useful skills that Carbineers have.

As for 1v1, Carbineers have a difficult time overcoming the regeneration of a buffed player in high resists armor. In situations involving players who have high resists armor, it depends greatly upon the template of the person you are fighting. Fencers, for example, have extremely high defenses that make almost all Carbineer attacks mute and pointless. However, riflemen do not have the defenses and can be more easily dealt with.

Assuming you are maxed on speed and are using a 500 damage laser carbine (with powerup), you can beat players 1v1 by first using fullatuosingle to dizzy them, then charge shot, actionshot or supression fire to knock them down. If you throw BH into the mix, you can use fire knockdown. Once they are in that position, you can use crippling shot or scatter shot to do damage. Crippling shot works with max speed because of the medium armor pierce of a laser carbine and the lack of delay with speed. With max speed, I use crippling shot to deal massive amounts of damage in a short span. (Imagine 500 x 7.5 x 2.5 every second on an opponent who is dizzy/kd.)

I've been able to beat buffed, well-armored Riflemen on occasion but two professions that I can absolutely do nothing against would be Fencer and Combat Medic. Fencers dodge too frequently and have defenses against Carbineer status effects. (Combat medic is mentioned because poison is unstoppable.)
