so i master marksman, rifles, carbs, and i got 0044 pistols and the rest in fs skills... all to prove to the melee kids that a completly ranged template holds its own

i'm just master carbineer/master weaponsmith.... i can outdmg a swordsman in the Geo caves, can't tank like them but carbines deal out a lot of dmg, poor melee professions can't keep up. strange since i always thought it was the other way until today.

What carbine did you use? stats i mean. And what specials? Crippleshot?

Outdamage a Swordsman in the Geo Caves? Either you are very good or the swordsmans are very poor 
I think you have to explain yourself a bit more.
I gota guildie who got a +900 damage acklay hammer and I don't see that anyone could possible outdamage him,exept perhaps a very uber rifleman.

he probably didnt mean on the Acklay...but yes, a carbineer can outdmg a swordsman on geonosians...spdcapped acid vulnerability after u kd it spam cripple...its gone

Dunno bout the geo caves, but we definately can on corsairs. I was out by myself at the camp yesterday, out came 2 rebels, and started into the main area of the spawns (had just respawned, i'd been camping it for a while). Thinking i was gonna lose it all, but i'd try anyway, proceeded to spam burst shot 2 for all it was worth (with some charge shots and FAA's thrown in). They didn't get one loot i don't think. For that day, i was one happy camper.

Speaking from the view point of a Carbineer/Swordsman ... it is possible, but very difficult. Burstshot2 with a decent carbine can hit for as much as a decent PH with 2HArea3 ... the only problem is finding a group of mobs willing to stand still and in your cone as you proceed to take them apart. However it is rather easy to find a group of mobs to swarm you spam Area3.

no the guy definetly didn't have a 900+ dmg power hammer. i don't think he knew exactly what he was doing, but he wasn't horrible either.i was using my 2.5 speed 1XX-400ish laser carbine,with a combo of full auto single 2, charge shot, scatter shot2, cripple shot. i'm speed capped with SEA's also. i'd agree with you that there is no way i could outdamage an uber swordsman, but an average one yes.

Well Fire KD does make a world of difference there. I just like grinding FS/killing tusken wearing tusken clothes
