Thread: Weapons??

Hi,

Finally made master carbineer on farstar to go with MBH,but I still have alot to lean regarding getting weapons sliced etcm and dont go in for pvp. Anyhoo it seems that carbines have been seriously overlooked maybe because its a "rare" proffession, with relatively few players taking it upbut what I want to know is why do riflemen get the d6rx-whatever rifle and pistoleers get the de-10 whatever pistol.... what do we get? Also why to rifle's and pistol's get melee defences and again carbines dont?? I hope the cu addresses some of these issues and encourages more people to take up carbines as theres nothing funnier than puttingan enemyon the ground dizzy and killing them before they can get up again.

So from someone who hasn't got a clue; from the cu I want to see:

1) A new carbine for MC's

2) Some melee defences so I dont have to grind fs, brawler, or fencer or any other prof just to pick up some

+ melee defence points

3) A reduction in the cost of using specials

I too am a re-noob to carbineer (i was almost master carbs this time last year on my old character before holocron said "The path to the force is Armorsmith"...or something like that...). from my understanding, the counterattack skill is still broken (after 1.5 years of online game). i believe that if it ever does get fixed, it will balance out the lack of defensive skills. couple counterattack from carbines, with the dodge from pistols and you shouldn't hardly get hit. not to mention all the food/drinks available. PvE should be super easy as carbineer, im having a blast taking out multiple mobs with action shot 2, and the other cone attacks. on top of that, i picked up charge shot2 last night !!! i cant wait to test it on the canyon corsairs tonight !! and im anxiously waiting sunday afternoon for some good pvp rumbles to see if it stands up better than master pistoleer did. i wish i could remember how many points i had and what template i was looking at last night. but i think it went something like this.....

Pistols 4 0 4 0

BH 3 4 0 0


i was sort of day dreaming while i was looking at a future template but i wanted to keep the pistol dodge/def vs trees. cant remember if i have the points off the top of my head (i should be working..but i dont like this ship, so not working as hard as i should). good luck at finding your template.


There wasa thread that show'd potential new carbines. im sure other classes are getting upgrades as well also. for now, im happy with our current selection, just wish we had a more range (variety) of damage types. looks like we're limited to energy, acid, and a non-AP heat gun (i haven't fully looked into this though, i may be wrong).

but your dodge modifier from pistols, or block mod from rifleman, WILL not be in effect, block only works with polearms and rifles, dodge for pistols and fencer, counter attack for swordie and carbineer



you can dodge/block. but the chances are so low it probably wouldnt be that noticeable.

Well the Dodge Food ups the % so it will matter.....I haven't personally used that food but have heard numerous reports.

It helps by approximately doubling (45% chance) your natural chance to dodge, I believe. That means that as a Fencer, suppose you dodge 1 in 3 times, you'd be dodging 2 in 3 times.


As a Carbineer, suppose you dodge 1 in 10 or even 1 in 15 times, that'd only bring you to 2 in 10, which isn't much of a boost. But it helps nonetheless.
