Thread: Master Carbineer, BH, starting hunting jedi

Ok everyone, here's my question. I've noticed several carbine specialists that are also BH, how many of you are bh. I'm getting ready to do my first jedi hunt tonite, after I get master carbineer tonite of course, any advice from teh floor would be nice, and of course I want to know your records against jedi, as a carbine weilding BH. Her's my template as of this evening
Master Carmineer, 3400 BH, (I have novice comando, but it's worthless, I'm thinking about dropping that and the brawler skills it requires and getting novice medic) come on guys give me some advice and thoughts on what I should do from here. I'm gonna love hunting jedi!

I have had success... but I have learned from probably the 2 best Carbineers in the game. Talk to Addy and Uncrow. They will teach you alot. I am sure that they will post on this thread.

Many might disagree with me on this but i find novice medic to be a waste when fighting jedi. It's been my experience that as soon as you have to heal against a jedi you'vejust lost. I believe it's better to put those skill points into some more defense mods, like grabing 0040pistoleer.
That's a very good point. If you're tackling a Jedi that's able to bring down your HAM bars significantly fast, odds are he's able to heal himself quickly and take you on. Novice Medic alone isn't helpful against Jedi, so if it boils down to picking Novice Medic only or something else, forget medic.
Really, the only exception to the above rule is if you're able to have something like 4000 or 0040 Medic (depends on preference), at which point a single Stim can heal you for 1800+ in a hit.
As far as tackling a Jedi goes, it boils down to states, followed by a possible knockdown, and a whole lotta CrippelShots and ScatterShots. As a BH 3400, ConfusionShot is very handy, as is UnderhandShot and ChargeShot1/2. Make sure you try to get in a posture change in, however. 99.9% of Jedi use Thakatillo, so the only effective way to KD them is to Stun them, thus reducing their defenses, posture-change them using ActionShot1/2 or SuppressionFire1/2, and then follow with a KD, hoping that there was a dizzy somewhere in the mix.
A lot of BH/Carbineer simply go for applying states and kiting their target altogether by spamming CrippleShot. In a sense, KDs are relatively easy to recover from.. so going for all-out damage is key. There's no real "science" to it, however. Practice will dictate your method, and your method will vary greatly from opponent to opponent.
Starting with the lowest-level Jedi you can and working upwards from there to higher bounty payouts would be beneficial, as would dueling unarmored Melee/Doc friends. Melee/Docs "simulate" Jedi rather accurately in their inherent lack of mitigation but ability to heal themselves. Most Melee/Docs also don't have sufficient defensive abilities to withstand our state-attacks and posture changes as well.
Practice, practice, practice! You will get killed in the field, numerous times, but a true Bounty Hunter looks past these deaths and will go back in again and again until they get their mark. ![]()

Don't expect much success against a decent level Jedi with ANY ranged template.
I think you will find Benny's post that I have STICKY will help you
Neh, you can handle any Jedi that isnt MLS with a ranged template. A 0044 LS can be handled reasonably well.

I wasn't aware of any Jedi that aren't MLS.....they all know how important +85 Saber Block is.....

Many jedi make a conscious decision to go only two branches of LS to fullfil other disciplines because they want to be something other than an OMFGZ()RS offensive powerhouse.
Probably like why some people wentCarbines instead of Rifleman =P

And the number of Carbineers (to fit your analogy) is about 2% of the population.....so 2% of the Jedi don't take MLS.....
