Thread: FS Carbineers...

Its no secret that most people in the game are now striving to become jedi or are already there. I am curious to know; of my fellow carbineers who is striving to just acquire the extra skill mods from the village to become FS Carbineers or FS Carbineer/BH? This would be an interesting twist to people's characters and I am interested to know what proportion of Carbineers have no aspiration to become jedi and just want to develop the ultimate Carbine template.

am mbh/mc with medic 1/0/0/0,and the first box in ranged acc, well probaly get another 2 boxes and goto just novice medic ,have no desire to have a jedi char is just a way of using surplus xp

and am not even sure they do what they say(the fs boxes) as someone said melle speed counts toward carbines

Fs ranged speed andfs ranged accuracy are both broken whereas fs melee speed & accuracy work for ranged too at the moment...



I do the village quests, because i want a combat-only and a craft-only char without paying additional 15$ every month... the skillmods are a nice addition.

Going to agree with Feo on almost every point there. A second toon without the extra $$ would be nice. But i imagine once i unlock i will keep both my accounts anyways ...

One thing that needs to be made clear about carbineers and FS mods. With Master Carbineer and +25 in SEA's you will obtain +85 in carbine speed, which is not enough under the current system to cap the average Laser or DXR-6 (which are the two popular high end carbines) For a player wanting to focus on carbines and not have to use BH or FS Speed it is a requirement, not a luxury.

However on most other toons the extra trees are just gravy. For example with Melee/Ranged Defence, you either have it capped before or the +20 really isn't going to make a huge difference.

On a more general note at the moment in SWG the end game is really just PvP and Jedi are indeed the height and focal point of most PvP encounters nowadays, so it is definitely something a focused player should be striving towards if they ever want to be kinf of the mountain.

yeah, melee speed is bugged and increases speed for both ranged and melee weapons

So Ranged Speed an Accuracy dont work? Surely after grinding millions of points of XP to gain these skill mods someone would fix such a grievous problem...working so much for no reward just to fill some boxes to get to jedi. I guess that I just dream of the day a speed capped carbineer could give a jedi a run for his money.


However with sabre block at its current effectiveness it just isnt viable...maybe a revamp will change that. I just imagine that eventually there will be so many jedi running around that it may be a boring scenario and that being a skilled Carbineer will be an unexpected rarity. I've had jedi toy with me by blocking every shot even though my accuracy is +190 and speed is +125.

yah except i didn't know that when i used my free unlock on FS ranged speed... ***grumbles about dumb melee speed and wish's devs would fix it***

We are trying to get this fixed BEFORE the CU


It is not an easy bug to find.....

I hope that it is found and fixed. After grinding to obtain the skill mods (not to obtain a jedi) I would like to have the extra mods working. Incidently for my template I am aiming for +12 ranged speed, +12 ranged accuracy, +12 ranged defence and +12 melee defence for combat. Have taken luck and vehicle handling for variety. Hope they fix it and help out those players who wish to be FS combat classes and not just those who tick the boxes for a jedi character....

im gonna use the ranged and melee def trees plus the range trees and go novice brawler, 4440 doctor and master carbineer with aim from marks. i love group pvp and i love carbineer so being able to heal off poisons and all that plus intimidate and what not i think will be a good thing. just need to get the fs box's
