It seems that most kinetic carbines are not very good. Is there really a good reason to carry one? Is there anything an Elite or E11 can't handle that a kinetic gun can?

I'd say kinetic ones are mainly used in PvP against Recon armor, but I'm not sure about that.
Personally, I've never used a kinetic carbine yet and just bought a Czerka one a week or so ago, but haven't been playing really now, so I haven't tested it yet. Also bought it mainly for PvP purposes.

Innate Armor isn't specifically vs Energy nor Kinetic, so I would always rather use Energy carbs as they tend to have more dmg.

Which will perhaps be an issue when shields actually start to work. At the moment they are useless, drained in 3 shots and the recharging doesn't really work. (Sure, you can change to a new one, but then you'll do nothing else any more in the fight than changing shield belts... *grin*)

Well PSGs give +10 accuracy though.

Only the imperial ones, which (as far as i know, i might be wrong) can't be factory-produced, so there are not so many on the market...

Are you sure they can't be factory produced? I bought two crates of them last week.

I'm currently CL 46 and I'm using a DXR6(is pre-CU BTW) and I am constantly pulling the aggro in groups with players that are CL80 because mine is doing the most damage(thankfully my Jedi friend has the healing tree
). I haven't really tried it against PvP cause I haven't completed my temp yet, but even against STs it puts out some nice dmg.
PS-I might also mention that the max damage on it is 746. not sure about the other stats but I know that one for sure cause I have two and that one must have been sliced or something because the others max damage is about 712 or something like that.
