Hey!
I'm one of the respec carbineers, but I love carb. so much that I want to make it my main profession, problem is that I don't know what I should put into my Master Carbineer template..

Any tips about professions that, with Carbineer really rocks the table?

For PvE you could go with the template I use:

  • Master Pistoleer

  • Master Carbineer

  • Master Marksman

  • Novice Rifleman

  • Novice Smuggler

  • Novice Commando

It has really nice offensive stats, lets you use all the ranged weapons nicely, has two Root shots (great for PvE and PvP alike),two high damage shots (legshot and headshot), a ranged KD, an area snare, area stun, ans two area damage shots for larger Mobs, andIntimidate and Warning shot to make life easier against high CL mobs.

It's weakest point is defense. It relies on roots and states for defense more than pure RD and MD (though its still pretty well off in those) which is great for PvE because most things don't have a ranged attack (and if it does you can KD or disarm it). But in PvP you need to have tank or kill something fast, or you'll die (i.e. don't try to solo Jedi, not this template's strong point.

I've been trying to figure it out myself. Trying to balance speed, damage, and abilities to make the ultimate PvE character. Well, instead of a jack of all trades, I've decided to do this. I'm going to focus my build around Master Carbineer. I love carbines. I will also take abilities from both rifleman, and pistoleer, and have points left over for 2 or 3 trees of FS.

-Master Marksman
-Master Carbineer
-Master Pistoleer
-4040 Rifleman
-4400 Combat Prowess
-4400 Enhanced Reflexes
-0003 Heightened Senses

What does this give me?

65+237= 302 Carbine Accuracy
50+52= 102 Carbine Speed
155+40= 195 Melee Defense
165+40= 205 Ranged Defense

All those unbuffed and no AA's or CA's.

Ability wise?
1 KD
2 Snares
3 Dmg Shots
1 Delay
1 Stun
1 Disarm

(I probably counted wrong though )

All in all, all those specials with 1 weapon, get a double toolbar full of the best 12 that work for you, and you have one hell of a great setup. Get a Capped SAC weapon and some food and drink, and you'll be doing tons of damage and almost never getting hit.

Something isn't right there. I have a template very similar to that minus the FS skills, but I have 315 accuracy with carbines and 105 speed.

I am M Carbineer/M Rifleman/CM 4400/FS Ranged Speed line. I find it great for PvP/PvE.

MBH/MCarbs/4-0-0-0 CM

You can pretty much outlast anything with this one. Only thing really missing is a root but with 2 snares, you should be able to get far enough away after Charge/Underhand Shot. Plus, 3 types of heals and Stim D's. Also very handy when fighting high payout Jedi.

M-Carbs/M-CM/M-Marks/Pistols 0003

2 types of root
2 types of snare (3 if you count that pissweak supression fire)
2 types of DoT
4 ways to heal

I'm still struggling against those CL-263 DJK..but that's just because my timing sucks.

Fond of Carbs/Smuggler myself.. (Need Smuggler for FP buying for my Armorsmith alt) Will be a less effective PvE template when they nerf concussion shot but oh well I'll just gut smuggler down to 4000 and maybetake uppistols for a root...

Im liking Master Carbs, MBH and Squad Leader x4x4.

Squad Leader is actually more useful post-CU, even though several abilities are broken or just crap, because now PvE actually needs agroup, and having someone with the willingness to properly lead and some abilities to help the group is always a good thing.

The System Message and Volley Fire abilities make holding a group together so much easier, plus you have +Retreat+ in case things get too hairy
