Thread: What is a good armor for a carbineer?
And within this cathegory, there is no general "good" or "bad" armour.
Each and any of those kinds can be crafted to have the exact same protection and encumberance. Lower protection indicates that either no layers were used (though, unlayered armour usually also is very good but comes at a much better price...), that the armoursmith lacks good ressources for this kind of armour or that the items is made by a very young armoursmith who doesn't have the necessary experimentation points yet to bring the armour to a really good state.
