The best energy damage carbines are the Elite Carbine and the E11 Mark II ... both with a damage cap of over a thousand. A good kinetic carbine would be Nym's Slugthrower, stats on this vary so you might want to try to get your hands on a good one. It does some nasty elemental damage and it's fast as hell.
If you are also a bounty hunter, I can highly recommend the Proton Carbine which is currently my favourite.

Sounds good to me. My slugthrower is about the same although I guess there are better ones. I do not know what the damage cap is for this weapon though.

its somewhere around 750 i believe.
blackscale hall sweepers can be good sometimes, but their elemental damage is a lot less than a nyms

yes, the best i have ever seen is 720 max 360 min 175 el with a sac of about 80 so yours is close..

I just chaged professions over to carbines and was wondering if you would tell me what weapon is the preferred weapon of carbineers
