I found an Ellite Carbine listed on a vendor with a base DPS of 556.99. Can that be right? This was the base DPS not modified. Could it be because it has a pup on it? Could it really have a base DPS of 556.99?If so how? And how much would you expect to pay for it if it is real?

It certainly could be real. It could also be speed pupped and sliced. Of course base DPS is easily thrown out of proportion. Experimenting on speed for the weapon sub components and the weapons assembly itself, has a much more dramatic effect than experimenting on damage. This weapon may have a SAC of well over 100, making it unusable.

So to sum up, yes that DPS is possible. But it doesn't make it a good weapon.

Heh, saw a scatter pistol with a dps of 520 for 3k, bought it, unpupped it turned out to be a 310 dps

Its Pupped

No weapon can have a base dps that high no matter how it is crafted and sliced.

Yeah, no doubt there's a speed pup on that. I don't even bother looking at a gun on vendor search if it's got a pup, if not for the fact that I don't care enough to see what the base stats are, then because it's usually someone trying to sell it to you for more than it's worth.
