this is ridiculous... when I was grinding with my laser carbine, I had the whole speed tree of carbineer and still autoattacked (no specials)almost every other second (not 1.0)... finally did master (my second time now) and with a damage sliced laser carbine I have to wait FOUR SECONDS between specials like scattershot (-shudders- don't even want to think about time delay for crippling shot)...Well i've had to use a speed sliced E-11 Enhanced Model (1.9 Speed) to almost hit the cap on most of my specials.... This is really silly that carbineers get gimped like this with speed... I am a master but yet I have 2-5 seconds between most specials (can't even hit the cap with most speed sliced higher crafted speed carbines (example DXR Carb, 3.6 and 3.9 lasers, etc)...don't want to pick up bounter hunter becuase I have another melee prof mastered and most of medic... And if I do want to cap speed with Master Carb skills only I need to find like +25 in tapes....Why is it a Rifleman gets +90 (only +7 till they cap) and I get +60?....

last time I was carbineer I had the BH tree so it was more tolerable..... But then again..since I'm only using carbines in a group atomosphere, and since carbines don't do any real damage to people in composite and buffs in PvP...Does damage really matter? I don't think so then.. Carbines are a support class and I guess if your barely doing any damage (%80-%90 resist armor to Acid/Energy) the difference between a speed and damage sliced carbine is almost nothing. It still is ironic using %30-%35 speed sliced weapons at master...but since not alot damage can be done, the speed slice is worth it for maximum speed.... I only use the carbines to KD/Stun/Blind/Dizzy from a distance or spam the area specials on groups of people..

The devs have said the speed formulas are being tossed out and redone in the combat revamp.... I hope they do a good job with this revamp, the current speed formula SUCKS. Carbines are like fully automatic assault weapons...they should be the class getting the most speed. It would be a waste buying speed tapes since the speed forumla is getting redone in a few months.. I sure to hope the speed formula in the revamp is much much faster.

yes, thank you for this brilliant assesmant to this problem! while were on the topic of assesments, shouldnt we get a stun carbine? And what is up with our ham costs?!

5 months longer than you have and looks like he has contributed well over 100 posts more than you. Ohhh and his posts have meaning to them where as your are meaningless phrases spewed from the mouth of a bridge dwelling creature.
To the original poster:
Take up BH carbs now that the requirements have been reduced. You will hit speed cap with any carbine in the game and will have +190 accuracy without food or tapes. Watch the defense stackers complain when they cant dodge your shots. The best though is when those defense stackers only wear upper body armor, leg shot them into the grave. It's a blast.
