Thread: FASTEST EASIST WAY TO FIX RANGED
This would apply to all ranged professions and would only be a temporary fix until the "Combat Revamp"... So basically a permanent fix...
In addition to modifiers such as "Carbine Speed +10" add "Combat Run Speed +10".
Pistoleers/BHs/Carbineers typically 'kite' targets that chase them. The biggest problem in combat is when (aside from minimal defenses, specials not working, etc.) your target simply rolls up on you and kills you even though you have specials like 'Blind', 'Bleed', 'Fire', 'Stop', etc.
By adding a modifier which affected your speed during combat you could better kite your targets and therefore have a much better chance in both PvE and PvP since this would easily stack with Burst. Each ranged profession already has a 'speed' line which is where this would fit very nicely.
A 'run multiplier' is already programmed into the system so this is a fix that would require absolutely NO programming.

Yes you might be trolling, but it is not a problem because you didn't act crazy or insult us Carbineers.
And you bring up a good point....adding this would not solve the problem but put another leaky band-aid on a huge wound. Ranged and Melee simply need balanced and SOE has no prior experience at making ranged fighters stronger than melee.....SOE doesn't have a clue how to make a STAR WARS game......this fact in indisputable based on the last 4 years....
The only melee prof that should have the upper hand on ranged profs in the STAR WARS universe is.....Jedi. Personally I think the ranged profs should always be stronger but the melee profs become the FASTER RUNNING ones. This would mean the ranged profs would need to use tactics (states, posture changes, knockdowns, etc) to keep the melee prof of them and win. A difficult and thin line to walk for sure, but STAR WARS demands the ranged profs be stronger...not counting Jedi. But of course to keep the game fun, balance is the key or you will only see CM/Rifleman running around or whatever garbage SOE puts out that is broken...
