Well, I have been playing for 12 days now and I'm still lost.

SWG is my first mmorpg, so I'm a n00b n00b really. I have no idea what you guys are talking about when I read the treads in this forum, so you have to spoon feed it to me

My plan is(from coolness factor):

Master Scout

Master Marksman

Master carbineer

And the BH carbine skills

and some medical skills

I am now a apprentice carbineer and I use a e11 carbine.

I've been trying to do some damage, but to me, over charge shot still seems like the best to me.

I usually get 250-600 damage and don't get anything near it with the other things I've tried... Do I have to make those macro things to get more damage?

As a carbineer, what should I set my stats to?

What gun should I use?

Weapon powerups... what shout I get?

Slice weapons?

Oh man, my head is hurting again! lol

Any help would be most welcome!!

If you are going to have novice medic skills, max out your Health, Action, Mind and willpower (for Mind regen). You can heal your HAM faster than regenning them and your Mind pool will regen faster.

Other folks have other templated that work for them, so YMMV

What gun should I use?

It is generally agreed that the Laser Carbine, with Armor Piercing 2 is the workhorse Carbine of this profession. Other swear by the Elite Carbine for its consistent damage. Both are energy weapons. Take your pick.

There are normally 2 variants of the Laser Carbine, low or high damage which is differentiated by using an advanced stock on the high dmg carbine (your weaponsmith puts this in as a extra component, you cannot add it yourself). Appropriately, a low dmg will use Lower HAM and high dmg, Higher HAM costs.

Weapon powerups... what should I get?

For Laser Carbine -- possibly min/max dmg or lower HAM/max dmg or speed/lower HAM etc, you can't really go wrong on these, just pick one that suits your style.

Now on something like a Elite Carbine, you probably want to go for speed or lower ham with a max dmg combo, since the minimum dmg is already pretty high.

Slice weapons?

Yes please.

Styles that work:

Action shot 1 for bleed and posture change (pc)

Action shot 2 for stacked bleed with AC1 (this is Area of Effect, so if you are fighting a single mob in a group of mobs, popping AC2 will aggro the other mobs as well)

Crippling Shot

Legshot 2 (for whittling down the mob when its action bar is lower than Health)

This should get you started. Check back on this board, I am sure you will pick up other tips along the way.

Cheers

depends.... if ur server has alot of bounty hunters put more mind. U try to find a doc to boost ur stats anyway... and u'll be a medic to heal so you'll need more mind then Health and Action. Mine are 1k/1k/875

I think I'll boost up my mind, that's how I've been dying lately

Wow, I never knew this and I have been using Action 2 more then any other special and i wondered why it seemed sometimes I would only fight one and other times I would get Zerged by the whole Mob.

Thanks for the info!
