, what would it be? WIth my current build, I'm only alloting enough skill points to get NoviceCarbineer and 14 other points, which would let me get one branch up to 4. So I'm wondering which branch is the best idea to buy up? I have 4 spare points in my build, which I could use onCarbineer also, which gives me 18. Doing that, I could have two branches at 2, which could work better. I'm off to to do some analysis now, but I'd really appreciate some feedback from the experienced and smart Carbineers in this forum.

I would go with assault tatics (wild shot and scatter shot) mainly cuz you learn 4 new abalities and the speed increase is good. (end class Mercenary)

I'm currently a BH/Carbineer. I have BH Carbine 1-4 and in carbineer i have 2-4-4-4. My carbine speed is +95 and my carbine accuracy is like +140 ish (something near there) mainly because the BH carbine tree gives +50 speed and +50 accuracy. If you have a really low carbine speed (like +20) then you may want to go up the assault tree, plus it has a cool title. Personally I would go up either Marksmanship (2nd tree) or counter (3rd tree). Mainly because i never use any specials from the first tree. Crippleshot is one of my main attacks.. If you use a knockdown on a target and quickly (and i mean immediately) follow with a crippleshot, you will see amazing damage.. i've seen mine get as high as 5200dmg. Of course using chargeshot then crippleshot eats at your hams a little but when you can take out a create with 4k hams with that crippleshot, it speaks for itself. And bursthot2 (even if it is broken) can do nice damage. I always do 1k+ damage with it, and it only costs like 74 ham cost when i use it with no spice or buff. (using laser carbine). Just my 2 cents.

I'd say it depends on what you spend most of your time doing. If you mostly solo hunt, then I would agree with the assault tactics line. However if you're looking to fulfill a more support role, I'd recommend the special abilities line. This would give you a ranged kd, and an area kd (when the fix it), plus the full auto area line, which may or may not be that useful, depending on what you're killing. The title (Assaulter) is kinda lame, IMHO, but YMMV.
