Thread: Is BH Carbine 4 necessary to supplement Master Carbineer?
Well, I'll be at Master Carbineer as soon as I finish off this last 50k Combat XP for Spec Abilities 4. I'm thinking of dropping Ranger or Creature Handler and going to Bounty Hunter Carbine 4 for the massive speed & accuracy boost.
The question is....do you all think this is really worth it? I guess it's kind of a gamble as to whether or not BH Carbine will be nerfed or Carbineers will be enhanced at the Master level.
Sorry if this has been discussed before, a quick browse didn't turn anything up and I usually don't browse this forum.
Well in any case, it shouldn't be necessary! This board is sobeset withmin-maxers and Fett-wannabees in search of "leetness",that somedaysit feels like I'm the only one who thinks so.... And yes I do understandthat not all Bounty Hunters or Carbineers with Bounty Hunting skills fit that description, but I want Carbineer to be viable as a "stand-alone" combat profession.
+85 speed is all you need to fire crippling shot at 1 second with a slow carbine (3.5-4.0 sec reload). That is 1/8th firing speed. If you use a faster shot like burstshot oruse faster carbines you need much less speed to hit the 1 second cap.
In the future, they are increasing the cap to 2.0 (no official word, but they said rifle would be 3). At a 2.0 sec cap, you only need +75 to cap a cripple at 2.0 with a slow carbine.
Just remember that +50 = 1/2 speed, +75 = 1/4 speed and +87.5 = 1/8th speed. A 4.0 second carbine using a shot that adds a 2x reload modifier (like cripple) will need 1/8 to get to 1 and 1/4 to get to 2.
Well I rather be doctor/carabineer like I am so I havbe no ham issues and can walk around in composite and spam specials all day long =)
Nooooooooooo ... Master Carbineer is a perfectly viable stand-alone class...
If you like losing...
Honestly, the BH specialization is essential.Everyone complains about it... but have you looked at what the BH Carbine specialization does?!? Your Carbine speed and accuracy go through the roof! Of course, you have to sacrifice any possiblity to get into the medic tree.. and that is the trade off.

Which deals with a cross-profession movement to stop cross-stacking skill mods such as this one. It's already very popular in Rifleman and Pistoleer (two groups that are usually at odds with each other) and if I can rally some support here, we're taking it to Bounty Hunter (where I think I can also get approval) and eventually, MAYBE the Devs via multiple correspondants.
