Thread: Spreadsheet Question

I was looking at the Carbineer Actual Speed and Damage Table v1.2.xls file and have a question on the scattershot 2 special attack.

Since it hits 3 random pools each shot, does it apply the DPS 3 times, so in essence doing 3X the damage that is listed?

Thank you for clearing up my confusion

No, it takes the standard damage and divides into 3 smaller "sub-bursts", which I believe follow the 3:2:1 rule on Health, Action and Mind.

That means that if your Carbine was hitting for300 damage, you'd have 3 smaller bursts of 100,100 and 100. The reason it is used is because those bursts have a 1 in 6 chance of hitting the Mind Pool, along with the standard: 80-10-10 pool distribution.

As an example, you fire for 300 damage using ScatterShot.. what can happen is:

The first burst will hit health, so 80 heath, 10 action,10 mind. The second burst will hit mind, so 80 mind, 10 health, 10 action. The last burst will hit Health again, so 80 health, 10 action, 10 mind. You've now gotten 100 damage on the mind pool in one hit, as opposed to say 300 with CrippleShot on primarily the Health or Action pool.

The total damage of ScatterShot1/2 is listed in the FAQ.

I am not sure the Spreadsheet got updated as Eisman left before I had those numbers all done.

But either way the Damage Mod listed is for Total Damage in the Spreadsheet and FAQ. ScatterShot2 divides that by 3 and then applies each one to a Random Pool....so you can end up with one in each pool or two in one pool or three in one pool.

I hope that helps and isn't more confusing

Any confirmation on the 3:2:1 rule, though? Lately I've noticed that CrippleShot hits the action pool WAY more often, and end up finishing 1 in 3 creatures using LegShot, whereas it used to be 1 in 15.

It's pretty weird.. just yesterday I took out one of those Mereks on Endors in 7 direct hits to the Action Pool. Stealth fix?

No changes that I am aware of.....I been using Fencer lately.....

Really sucks when my befriended pets auto-store all the time (yes I complained AGAIN) when trying to get Carbineer XP.....so it is easier to get 10k Fencer XP per minute

Actually I find that Ranged XP is so much easier depending on where you are. I've been slowly working towards unlocking my character slot (which required capping both Carbineer and Fencer XP a total of 52 times.)

I just run from one Endor Outpost to the other and kill everything along the way. The carbine specials are so sweet when it comes to middle-end PvE (as you of course know..lol) so that I can easily cap Carbine XP inabout an hour.

any prof with an area/spn attack you can master in appr. 1 buff at faction bases:

ranged, just run around the base, kiting npc's and usng an area attack (I used FAA)

melee, just agro ALL nps' run into the base gate so they're forced to surround at close range....do loads of spinattacks and gain loads of xp

I even mastered commando in about 3 hours..I took pistol tech IV for fanshot, then got a nice LP and fanshot a few hundred rebel npc's to death
