Thread: Carbineer: Dabble Friendly?

I am currently a master combat medic and am working my way up the rifleman tree, problem is that rifles really need master to be effective. So my question is are carbines a little more dabble friendly then rifles. Please do not factor in BH as there is no way in hell to make an effective BH/CM.

They are dabble friendly, but ... the only templates i can think of that would be effective all include BH. If you truly were dedicated you could go 4400 (speed and accuracy trees) +12 FS Melee Speed (it's bugged) and +25 in tapes and end up +87 Speed and be able to get near the speed cap on somecarbines. That would leave you with a few viable specials ... Namely Crippleshot, Fullautosingle2, Scattershot2, Actionshot2 and Legshot3. This is probably the bear minimum you could do to allow a successful carbine dabble template without BH as far as i can see.


How many skill points are we talking? With Master CM you still have points for M Carbineer.

I want do have the full 6 force trees, artisan business 3 for vendors and still have a viable PvP template. What attracts me about carbines is the area dizzy/KD attacks

That's tough, you're going to have to pick and choose well. At limited amount of SPs you need to start relying on awesome weapons/gear to help compensate for it.

After you get all that in and get the novice carbineer box you will have 13 points. You will have enough points for 0003. Which will give you fullautoarea2 (AE Dizzy/Blind/Stun) and chargeshot1 (single target KD) keeping in mind that you will have to use marksman speed and accuracy mods. Only people you will really be effective against are other defenceless PvP templates such as yourself and you will be likely only getting a shot off every 3-4 seconds.


If you have nothing better to spend the skill points on then this might be an option, however i think they might be better spent on some doc since you wouldn't need to burn 14 points on the marksman carbine tree and 6 nov carbineer box, and you would have enough for a full tree and then 13 more points. Removing states would probably help alot more than applying them, since you could also heal poison/disease.


However if Business 3 was optional you could take 4204 Carbineer. You would have the speed mods from 4000 and some slight acc mods of 0200 plus the specials you were looking for. Chargeshot2 (AE KD) and FullautoArea2 (AE Dizzy) plus the capabilities to fire them at or near the speed cap (albiet you need a fast carbine, skill tapes and FS speed mods) plus some acc to help you actually land some hits.
