I have recently begun grinding through Carbineer in preparation to get BH carbine skills. I figured the best way to get better with carbines was to move through Carbineer then hit BH. I recently ran into a memeber of my guild who is doing something very similar but he got the BH carbine skills first...and I feel like something is wrong. After becoming 4302 Carbineer I can do a fairly decent amoutn of damage very quickly, the 3300 skills are by far the most important imo. But the BH has so much speed that he can fire at an absurd rate with just the minimum skill shots, like full Single Auto, and do more damage than me per second. (Alot more)
My question/suggestion:
Why does the BH get +10 Carbine Speed for each of the first 3 carbine skills, then he gets plus 20 on the forth!? As a carbineer, someone who is specializing in ONLY carbineers, we get +5 speed bonus on each of the 4 levels of assault tactics, giving us a total of 20 at the top. BH gets +10 on the first 3, then a plus 20?! Total of 50!
Why don't we get the +10 speed bonus's and BH get the +5 ones? Accuracy is fine as we get huge bonuses in the upper two but I think carbineers should be the best with carbines. Giving BH all that speed with carbines makes them almost as powerful, if not more so, with carbines...
That is my .02 anyway. I'm somewhat new to these professions so mabye there are things I'm overlooking.

Bounty Hunters were meant to be all about attack.
You dont see any defences in their makeup for a reason.
This all changed with the skill point reduction of course.

I can lay out a BH/Carbineer with relative ease ...
... but i have several million invested into SEA's and high end weaponary.
While i agree we should be the undisputed king of the carbine, but the issue of BH Carbineer vs. Pure Carbineer isn't so leaned towards BH being overpowered but moreso towards Carbineer speed mods not being high enough. This has been our highest priority and top issue for as long as i can remember being a carbineer ... and well that is quite sometime
Pure Carbineer can be easily supplemented by SEA's (CA's and AA's) and FS Speed mods that it can be just as good as the BH skill mods. Basically what arguements like this come into play it boils down to simply this. Offense vs. Defence. BH + Carbineer is a very effective offensive machine, almost completely lacking in defence. However with just carbineer it leaves a lot of skill points to dabble in other proffessions and come out with some incredible defence mods. You can easily create a defensive build making you very durable on the battlefield.

Actually right now a fight between 2 really good carbineers, one bh and one d-stacker, without dots would be a race to see who's armor dies first.

Actually a Armorsmith/Artisan/Merchant/Dancer template would last just as long as either of those with identical armor......

On the original topic....
BH is meant to be better/faster and I would suggest reading the FAQ before you waste more time

That was an excellent post that explains a lot of things to me. I think I understand what I was missing. Thanks!
