Evening, Gents/ladies. I have recently created a toon on Radiant to get away from my FS grind on Kettemoor. Anywho, this guy is a fun guy. The Creature Handler part is non-negotiable. This leaves me with 144 skill points left. My thinking was to go with BH carbines for the speed/accuracy/special. however, this leaves me with the ability to only go up 2 full trees in carbineer and 3/4 of a of the way up a 3rd. Having never done Carbines before I'm hoping to get some advice from you masters as far as what i should do with the left over points i'd have for carbineer. Or: Should I even do the BH carbines? Coming from a pistoleer, i find the BH portion to be a neccisity. I'd appreciate any advice on what to spend the rest of my sp on.

If you get the BH carbine tree then u only need to up to 3 on the speed as you will cap i then. As a novice i would suggest Carbineer 3-4-0-4 to get the speed cap and the accuracy but you do not get any counterattack with this template.

I've been playing this game for 4 months and still have no idea what counterattack does. I've seen it pop up over the heads of thing i've fought, but havent' noticed anything significant happen when I see it.

It's exactly the same as dodge... but it only works half as often. In my opinion counterattack really isn't a must-have.

You also don't need to get 3xxx for the speed. Speed above 90 is quite useless for carbineers, so 1xxx is enough if you don't need Scattershot2 (you won't use this special in PvE often anyway)... if i were you, i wouldn't take any skill from the Assault Tacitcs line and try to get a +5 carbine speed SEA or weapons with 2,7 attack speed.

That being said, my template would be MCH, BH 0400, Carbineer 0434.

I have been a Carbineer/CH in various forms for right at one full year now, so I feel that I am an expert on the subject

Defense/Counterattack is useless with CH except when you get surprised. But BurstShot2 is a big deal along with FullAutoArea2 for a Carbineer/CH. So basically you can live with 0433 Carbineer with 0400 BH.

Another thing to consider is not going all the way to MCH. You should be able to find two Light Armor, 60% Kinetic Resists pets at level 22 or below and thus only need 0444 CH. I played that with Master Carbineer for about 6 months and just for something to do am working back to MCH to have THREE of those uber BE Pets out

Lastly I would seriously think about Novice Medic or XX4X Medic. You won't use Medic much on yourself but it can help with the Pets as the timer for Pet Stim's and Medic Stim's are different so essentially you can "double heal". Thankfully I have a full clothing set of SEA's so I don't need any BH, which lets me take MCH/MCarb/3440 Medic.

Actually there is no reason to get Master Carbineer with 0400 BH. I may sound like a traitor saying that, but that is the way the game plays right now.

One of my many goals as Correspondent is to change that fact and make sure there are plenty of reasons to get Master Carbineer.......Weapon Certs, Specials, Armor Certs, etc.

What kind of nub would make a toon on radiant ....

BH would be a good idea to help with the speed concern's especially if you didn't plan on investing a lot of time and money on this toon.

As far as skills to supplement CH nothing would be better than 0004. FullAutoArea2 at the speed cap with pets tanking would be just beautiful. Other than that 0400 for accuracy would be the next tree i take, followed by 0040 for some more AoE Skills. You could also go 0304 Carbineer, 0400 BH, Master CH and take up Nov Medic.

Hope this helps, if you need a hand in game /t lawke.
