Thread: Need some help (Riflemen or Carbineer)
I am very close to mastering the riflemen profession. I received my holo and it said carbineer. Well , first of all im not really going for jedi, but I hunted with a carbineer and he was very effective.
So I figured , what the hell, I'll give it a try. Carbines do have some nice attacks, but i was shocked at how poor the weapons are, and ineffective. The dont do near as much damage as the riflemen weapons, and there selection on weapons is'nt very good either.
I am still unsure and have not surrenderd any skill points, but I am not fully sold on this profession. Could a well versed player that has experimented with a few of the these professions help me out and let me know if it gets better or worse. Thanks.
Your posting in the carbineer thread bud. Your gonna get a biased opinion from most people.
Carbs are not hard hitters, if you enjoy knocking down targets and stacking effects on them in the heat of battle then go carb. Don't know much about rifles, but it seems like like they like to stay concealed at long ranges and snipe at peoples minds. Depends what you like. Carbines = semi up and closebattle or Rifle = pick them off from a distance when they are unsuspecting.

It depends on your style. Carbines are most effective in a group situtation, so if you like to group, by all means, go carbineer. I can solo and drop certain white con mobs in 1 hit with burstshot, but grouping is more effective.
Plus nothing else in the ranged weapon professions has the sheer capacity to fill up your screen with dozens of kill and experience gain messages. I LOVE the AOE nature of Carbineer. Lot of Riflemen love their area attack special - they should see what a good Carbineer with a fast weapon can do...

Im a master Rifleman ATM but a carbineer at heart and comming back to it when i get a weekend to grind it back out. I have enjoyed all of the ranged profs ( ive dont them all BH included)and each has unique strengths and weekness. Rifleman for now is by far the strongest of the ranged types but this will change back to a similence of balance soon with the upcomming rifle nerfs.
Pistoleer is the best if you dont feel the need to prepare for battle with low HAM costs and good damage but with light AP at best and the lowest damage per shot. The best thing about pistols is the stacking with smugler for a top notch PVP set up cause if you cant kill them in the 15sec that Lowblow and panic give you to work on them you shouldnt be attacking them. Also has great dodge mods
Rifleman AP3 with good accuracy now (used to be pathetic) and the only ranged weapon that spd caps without adding although SS2 requires alittle help from tapes or Master marksman. The drawback is the Mind damage from specials on my weapons its around 160 per shot if im not hopped up or just finished a feast. Has the best general defences but broken block mod
Carbineer good AP from the lazer with ALOT of nicespecials. Best KD around AoE Blead, Blead +posturechange , a 7.5x specal highest in the game, and a few others. Drawback is the spd of only +60 which is absolutly pathetic. Decent counterattack mods. Carbineer is very effeciant in conjuntion with Master Doc for full time buffs or BH carbine for Spd caped and a dizzy shot but the only specal from the BH carbine Tree woth jack is in the fourth box. or at master BH ![]()
Just get the fastest CDEF and dabble into carbine (just get charge shot 1, you can spam our KD move this way. There is NO timer on it.)
It's best to just keep master rifleman so you can dish out the damage, heh.
