Thread: For those Holo-Carbineers
For the Holo-following-grinding-carbineer types, stopcluttering the Carbineer forum with "How do I master carbineer?" topics! To help you in this oh-so-difficult task, I havelisted a few of the threads which "real carbineers" wrote, discussing how they get xp. The other thing I ask is that IF you decide to read any of these, bump this thread so that the next holo-hunter will see it as well. AND if you find any other threads which provide useful information, add it to the list.

From novice marksman to carbines 3, it was mostly running around the area outside Coronet (up to 1k away) and hitting anything I could. As soon as I qualified for laser carbine I picked up the best one I could find and starting using that. Since I am a master ch, I can have pets tank huge mobs, and can also pull high level missions. Using a pair of grauls, plus my master pistoleer status, I pulled level 40+ sharnaff missions.
They are non-db, which helps a lot, since you will take many dirt naps along the way. Then I went and got a full set of buffs from a master doctor. If doctors are rare, get at least a 700+ buff on quickness and stamina, as I have found that enough to keep your action bar full.
When I get to the mission, I send pets in and fire away from a distance. I started with legshot2 from marksman. Went 175k and picked up Burstshot1 (x/x/1/x). Along the way I picked up enough combat xp to get (x/x/x/1).
Burstshot1 was a huge help. Then I ground all the way up to x/3/x/x to pick up cripple shot, which was even more of a help. Then I ground up 1/x/x/x, and x/x/x/2, which currently leaves me at 1/3/1/2.
At this point, the way I attack is:
1. Send in pet and snag mob and any friends.
2. Use legshot2 to stun mob. If it doesn't the first time, I try once more, and move on, whether it stunned or not.
3. Actionshot2 to bleed. Have to be careful here as it is an area affect and will hit other nearby mobs with bleed as well. Sometimes will end up with a mob coming down on me here, which I have to do my best to avoid until the mob I am currently attacking is down.
4. Chargeshot1 to knock down mob.
5. Cripple Shot. If I sucessfully hit chargeshot1, I usually take a big chunk of life as they are usually stunned+ prone.
6. If I haven't hit kd on them, I will try again, and switch back to cripple shot. If cripple shot takes down their action low, I will switch back to legshot2, keeping them stunned and targeting action to finish them off.
I have sucessfully used this when doing toe to toe with mobs as well, though w/o a buff I would likely incap myself from action ham use.
If I take two sharnaff mission in the same direction, clear them out, and then let them reset once, I can pull in 110k-120k carbine xp from the whole lot. Seems if I try to reset them twice the mission ends incomplete for some reason.
With a good buff I can do the entire run in 45 minutes to an hour with pets to tank. W/o pets expect it to take much longer.
Hope this helps!
So where do I go to hunt?!
Kidding! My holo said Pistoleer, screw pistoleers! Screw them and their fancy fanshots.
IF you don't mind going BH carbine, and if you can get that first, then go up the marksmanship tree first. If not, then do assault tactics (for both of these grab counterinsurgency 1 for burstshot immediately).
For all those out there telling all the holo-newbs and the regular newbs to do marksmanship, well not all of them will want to take BH carbine. So get it straight there.

I thought my vibroknucklers killed my action bar! Someone did something nasty to these carbines ![]()
