Thread: Formula for Speed anyone?

Hey all,

I was just wondering. I heard a long time ago that if you had a carbine of speed 4.0 (or it was 4.3, i forgot) and you have +70 carbine speed, you lower it's speed down to a fuzzy wuzzy 2.0 or so. Is this correct?

In any event/case, I'd like to have the formula for it. Also, how much % does armor 1 and 2 give? I heard armor 1 gives +25% rest to all or something like that. And by how much does armor piercing actually amplify damage? (i.e If a creature has NO armor and I hit it with an E11, do I then amplify my general damage by 25%? I know it amplifies it, not sure if it's bugged atm though (hehe). But how much DOES is amplify if my 25% is incorrect. I hope this post will then clear up some stuff for not only me, but other people that aren't sure about everything. Thanks,

The formula is: ((100 - {+speed})/100) * special speed modifier * reload of weapon.

For example, firing Crippleshot (2.5x reload) at Master Carbineer (+60 speed) with a 3.5 speed laser carbine means:

((100-60)/100) * 2.5 * 3.5

0.4 *2.5 * 3.5 = 3.5 (you fire crippleshot at master at the actual speed on the weapon).

I am not going to comment on AR/AP because I keep seeing posts that make me believe my understanding of it is incorrect. I think there are 2 schools of thought on what it is doing.

Novamarine is absolutely correct with the formula and calculations. I'd just like to add a little addendum. When your speed modifier approaches or surpasses 100, that's when things tend to get really crazy. When your speed is that high, all of your standard attacks and special moves hit the attack speed minimum of 1.0 seconds. I was a master carbineer with BH carbine I-III for a long time and saw this first hand with a carbine speed modifier of 105. I used to shoot cripple shots every second. After I dropped BH to hologrind, I was shocked by the speed difference. HAM costs and status effect movesaside, being able to fire do all your moves at the speed cap is currently one of the most important things for a combat template.
