take crippleshot..one of the BEST carbineer specials we have..

scattershot 2 is okay, but scattershot 1 will keep you till you get the 2nd.

i like scatter shot more cuz of the chance to hit the same pool 3 times thats freakin deadly and its much faster then cripple

I like Scattershot2 myself. Damage seems similar but scatter just feels like it fires faster cause of the spraying a number of shots. I guess i just feel more comfortable with scatter2.

Almost forgot look at Novamarines post on the carbine specials. Crippleshot and scatter2 are listed with the same reload modifier i think. Scatter just feels fast due to the sparying a number of shots compared to cripple only firing 1 shot.

It's very hard to really compare scatter shot and crippling shot because scatter shot always displays that it does 1 damage in the combat window. However, this is based off my past experiences and could be entirely incorrect.

Scatter Shot 2 fires3 blasts that hit random pools (although they hit health more often than action or mind). Note that each shot can hit any pool, so it's possible to hit each pool once, one pool twice and one other, or to hit the same pool 3 times. More often than not, I seemed to hit health twice and something else once. However, you'll see all 3 variations quite often.

Each blast does moderate damage (certainly not as much as crippling shot). However, if all 3 happen to hit the same pool, you can do very large amounts of damage to that pool as you're essentially firing at the same pool 3 times at once.

With a laser carbine, this effect can have somewhat of amoderating factor to your combat. The biggest downfall of a laser carbine is the wide range of damage values. However, by using scatter shot, you're firing 3 blasts. That means that, even if one or two hit for low damage, one or two should hit for fairly high damage. That means that you'll find your total damage to stay closer to an average value and have less deviation. You'll get less low damage blasts, but you'll also get less high damage blasts.

Crippling shot, however, seems to be just the opposite. With this special, all of your eggs are in one basket. You might hit for a ton of damage, and you might hit for next to nothing.

I guess it's really up to you as to which special you want to use, but that's my take on how they function. Note that I have little hard evidence to back any of this up. This is just my observation of how I think they've functioned for me in the past (I was, for some time, a Master Carbineer).

Anyway, I hope that helps at least a little.

The attic was less to us from the cellar the bones like the attic let them have it let them stay in the attic. When they sometimes come down the stairs at night and stand perplexed behind the door and headboard of the bed brushing that chalky skull with chalky fingers with sounds like the dry rattling of a shutter. Thats what I sit up in the dark to say.

I'm not a carbineer but was wondering if the scatter shots behave like the scatter hits in the fencer line. As a fencer the scatter shiak will avoid dodge/block/counterattack and hit the target even if the combat spam says they evade it. This is the only way I die to Tuskens since I have a super high dodge. Anybody want to test this as it might make scatter shot seem more valuable.

yes it does avoid dodge/block/counterattack

scatter type hits is one of few counters to stacked dodge fencer/pistoleers.. another one being intimidate which makes it so they cannot dodge at all
