Thread: What am I doing wrong?!!?
I cannot seem to do any level 30 missions solo. I'm really starting to hate the fact that I can watch everyone else do everything without problem. I just tried to do a Razor Cat misson outside of Coronet and had my arse handed to me when during the second wave. I't drives me insane!!!
I'm a 2-3-3-2 Carbineer so i figure that i can have some success. What am I doing wrong?
Do you get buffs? use armour? buy food? or have medic skills? do you use Threaten shot? warning shot? Suppression fire? Action bleed 1 and action bleed 2? followed by legshot 2? Do you pull selective targets or do you just rush forward and have everything aggro you? Do you pin one target down and open up on another? or do you pin one down and kite to get distance between you and him, while simultaneously drawing another target away from the main pack?
I don't know your fighting style, just trying to get a feel

This is a common affliction in SWG: you suck. The scientific term is professiona suxx0rness but you are in good company as this forum is essentially a big support group for people with the same disease.
There are ways to alleviate the symptoms but im afraid the disease will never be cured until you cancel your account.
one way is to take a second profession that compensates for your shortcomings. CH is a good one, some medic skills are a must, doctor is an excellent one because you can self buff. I also hear CM is a good one and of course there is always the deadly BH/carbineer however without buffs they suffer the same problems.
Finally, until you master carbineer and one of the above professions you need to get it out of your head that you must do lv30 missions because it aint gonna happen.
Hope this helps.
lol makalas
umm dude ill tell you what you do, GET BUFFED and MOUN GOLDED!, waam u can spam specials and the creatures dont do jack to you, but once u get buffed the first time, you get addicted, when i try to fight unbuffed at master carbine/0300 BH/novice medic, i struggle because im so used to fighting buffed.
Do you realize that a laser carb with 340 max damage will hit for as much as 500 points for a default attack?? My good laser carb with a 32% max damage powerup hits for 505 max and default will run all the way up to 750 points. Thats a special for some weapons. So use default attacks a little more to conserve ham. That is what I must do to survive in full comp. That mind bar can go quick.
And some shots use ham a little different. Scattershot doesn't drain the mind as much as crippleshot and IMHO is one of the better shots for carbineer. Or even weapon choice will play a part. EE3's may have high health and action drain but mind drain is nonexistent. DH-17's and their snub counterparts also have low ham drain and have a pretty high damage ratio. Need something with an ar then go with the e-11 for extended periods of time. Also a laser carbs friend is range. The further out the better. But a DH-17 or nym slug carbine will hit more at point blank and have a higher rate of fire.
And have you tried to play smart?? Come on I solo picket missions no problem. And I do level 35 faction missions on a regular basis. Pickets and rebel npcs are much tougher than razor cats.
As a less than master carbine, along with a less than master CH, you can do pretty well using a pet to keep the target at range and use a hvy laser, pretty much evenwith default shots.
I don't think you should have to do buffs at 15-30K just to do missions. (And you justknow that nerf is coming real soon to a computer near you :-) Tatt sun and fishak are helpful and don't have terrible downsides.

Dude. Razor cats are cake. I can solo pickets with a cdef if i choose to waste my time doing so. Jungle voritors aren't much harder. Force sensitive weenies are about where I draw the line without a tank.
